It was happening with Clinton too, granted maybe not as bad as Bush but this was happening a bit farther back. I personally didn't like either of them but in the end I still had to side with Romney because as long as I live in the US I don't want my leader to tell me that socialism is the way to go because he did technically say something around that but it sounded far more subtle. I think the reason they can call Ohio is that the bulk of the remaining areas are more blue than red.
