    Newcastle Brown Ale.

I see some Guinness and Newcastle references out here. UK beer... mmmm.

Being from the Northwest, I have to throw props out to Bayern's amber lager, Bitterroot Valley's Sawtooth ale, and a general shout out to St. Pauly's Girl and Stella (when on sale).

Spectral, you must be from CA. That Pliny the Elder is the reigning champ in beers, but as far as I know, is not bottled and distributed. I've heard it's amazing.

There is a Brewery here in San Diego called Karl Strauss. Their Amber Lager when fresh is my hands down favorite beer ever. THeir Red Trolley is my 2nd. If i cannot get those then my default go to is Newcastle or Boston Lager.

im a pretty big fan of the Gonzo Imperial Port by Flying Dog (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/68/24071), but when im not choosy its hard for me not to grab a Boulevard Wheat. Ive heard that its a midwest thing, but I love that unfiltered taste

Victory Prima Pils when im in the mood for a lighter brew....its the only pilsner i can drink being a hop head.

Sierra Nevada is my 'cheap/bar' beer (akin to most peoples bud lt/miller lt) with Victory Headwaters Pale Ale being just as affordable and better but not available at bars.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale is quite possibly the best double hopped IPA ever and I drink it almost daily.

Tis the season for something darker and heavier: may I suggest Founder's Breakfast Stout (double chocolate oatmeal stout) or Bell's Porter

I would have to say Shiner Bock is my favorite, but recently I tried Kirin Ichiban and Smithwick's which I loved.

There's to much good beer, you mean pils?
In that case Jupiler, Maes or Stella
    stronger beers: Omer, Duvel
    special beers: Seef

not belgian beers: Sagres and Saint-Michael (both Portugeese)

There's loads more that I like, but those are the one's I can remember right now

Newcastle Brown Ale is pretty nice also, and a whole range of local microbrewery stuff around here.

it tastes good and its beer from the town im born in

but to be honest you can never go wrog with any belgian beer
Yeh West-Vleeteren was the best beer in the world, but it got beaten by some swedish beer I think
also its so appreciated because the monks only make a certain amount each year (they don't want it to become a commercial beer)

Elder is bottled and distributed (all be it limited distribution in CA) but Pliny the Younger is their February "strong beer month" release that is not bottled. Kegs are distributed to a few places around the SF Bay Area and to some places in LA.

Honestly I think its over rated, a lot of its appeal comes from the rarity.

Big fan of Firestone's Double Jack IPA and Parabola for a Russian imp stout. Knee Deep has come out with some interesting IPA / DIPA's as well in their Citra / Simtra / Hoptologist
