I still really enjoy the game. Mostly as I dont power through content. But try and enjoy it

Completely irrelevant statement. 75-80% is pretty much the standard for people trying out mmo's and leaving. Even WoW confirms this, they just have a higher number of players and have contracts in other regions that pay different amounts and as thus can pad their sub numbers above others.

And why are you trying to spin asians using a different method to pay for their game time and pay less than western subscribers, as them not counting as an actual paying player? Because they do in fact, just like anyone have, have to pay for their game time. That's not "padding" by calling an actually paying player what it is. Does american players not count either then? Because they pay less than the european ones do so clearly it's padding the numbers by calling those filthy cheapskates actual subscribers because they don't pay as much.

While I agree that the guy isn't correct in he's statement, Chinese WoW players pay a fraction of what EU/NA players pay and as they do it hourly with time cards that are valid for 6 months so it's not comparable nor is it incorrect to call them padding numbers what talking subscribers.

All numbers show SWTOR beeing very low compared to at launch - even first numbers on xfire show very low inital rush for SWTOR. Xfire usually gets the trends pretty well on whats going on withing MMOs.

Why is it hard to do a 4M+6M and conclude that there are 10M paying subs on WoW regardless of the different paying methods? Asians are still people right?

I didn't say it was right/wrong of BW to do that.

I just explained to you why calling 6 million PPH players subscribers is wrong.

Well the Chinese player buys a time card with 60 hours if I recall correctly, for this he pays about half of what you pay for a month of WoW, he then proceeds to use 1 minute of he's time and logs off to never play again. In this scenario Blizzard counts him as a "subscriber" for the full 6 months the time card is active.

You see why it's so different it's not valid to use in comparison to games with western customers paying $15 a month. For a valid comparison WoW has somewhere 3,5-4,5 million western subscribers, still lightyears ahead of any competition but far from the advertised 10 million.

So what so you suggest? That we sit idle by while some one totally perpetuates the illusion that WoW has 10 million monthly subscribers, that you go and edit out blatant misinformation or just perhaps that we go where the discussion takes us, in this case to this very old argument, relevant to SWTOR or not.

I have never seen someone infracted for spreading false information about WoW subscription numbers. The fact that a moderator responded to this without infracting that guy means that its not going to happen.

Pay per hour is not a subscription. You need to pay a subscription to be a subscriber. They do not have 10 million subscribers. Period.
