Help on choosing to play gw2

I have had the game since release and not really played...I have a few questions in the games current state is it worth investing my time in? what are the pro's and cons? any advice/help would be great.

I think the main downside to PvE dungeon are some boss encounters are boring and trash mobs hit too hard and do nothing interesting. Other then that I think it's pretty good.

You missed the best Halloween event in the world though.
