Someone mentioned that Samsung is the same as Apple in their marketing. While Samsung does have an aggressive "other phones are bad" marketing scheme they don't just directly attack one product like a certain other company *cough* Apple *cough*. Anyone remember those mac vs pc commercials? Made my blood boil.

Its funny too because Microsoft straight up saved Apple at one point, they were falling apart and were almost guaranteed to go bankrupt very soon but then microsoft bailed them out and gave them a shit load of money freely because jobs and bill were buddies at one point.

To totally derail this thread. I just heard the Nexus 4 which is a retardidly cheap phone for what it brings, won't be a retardidly cheap phone in Belgium. And we can't buy it through google play.

Now THIS is an actual tragedy.

Calling anyone who buys an Apple product stupid is rather ironic and also makes you rather ignorant.

and the 5 will pass the s3 soon enough, android fan boys are WAY worse than apple fan boys. Apple fan boys love their apple products, android fan boys love to HATE apple fan boys

The Galaxy is a better phone. No surprise here.

It wasn't a bailout; $150 million was an investment by Microsoft to have their computers ship with Internet Explorer and continue to develop Office for Mac.

Also, Apple already had over $1 billion in cash on hand at the time.

I am not really a fanboy of either side but any person with half a brain should realise that the article is awful. It is comparing SGSIII sales (a brand new phone) with last few weeks of iPhone 4S' "shelf life". And nobody was buying the iPhone because
    a) everyone knew iP5 is right around the corner
    b) it's essentially a 2010 phone that was rereleased in 2011 with Siri.

So while technically the statement "SGSIII sold better than iP4S in Q3/2011" is correct, it doesn't have any informational value.

About time people realized that the upgrades they were giving to their phones was no where near the price that they were setting them for, especially when they just phase out in half a year

The sales figures are 4s figures. Nobody was buying a 4s in Q3 because of the iphone 5. Apple will be back on top by freaking miles q4, this was to be expected. It's not a back slide at all, no matter how much you want it to be

Once again, it's not the same as "hybrid drives with a buzzword". It's two separate drives and storage of blocks of data is handled by the operating system's volume manager.

As for the whole "retina display" thing, I'm just glad companies are finally starting to push displays with higher pixel densities. The laptop market was starting to get ridiculous, faster and faster machines but most of them stuck at 1366x768 or 1440x900 (for "high res" with some even daring to push 1920x1080 15" and 17" models).

And like it or not, Apple were the ones who made the first major push into the consumer market with higher resolution displays (note: CONSUMER MARKET, if you fail to understand what this means then please please please don't reply with some rambling about the T221 or some other older high PPI monitor for niche markets).

The news of how much Apple had to pay after getting cought stealing the design to their clock got revealed today.
Apple must counter sue 10 random companies now in order to feel better again.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

Check your opinion at the door and research some facts please.

I don't understand how people can justify to spend 30% more money on a phone while the differences are barely noticable (I know someone will say this is not true). They just buy it because of the hype around them and for status. "Personal preferences" a lot of people say if they have to choose between an iPhone 5 and an S3. So you pay 250 euros more because it feels a little better in your hand (or whatever)? (I had both phones in my hand this weekend... wtf.)

The facts that iphones have some minor advantages over samsung galaxy and on other points the samsung galaxy has some minor advantages over the iphones? Does that justify having to pay so much more?

They'd be in good company, have you seen some of the diagrams that show which IT/cellphone/telecommunications companies are suing which other companies? It looks like a spiderweb (however, the media prefers mostly reporting on the Apple-related lawsuits which gives those who aren't following these things very closely the impression that Apple is the only ones suing other companies).
