Doing the same stuff over and over again in WoW is good as sex, but doing it in GW2 is fail, I get it now.

I was already missing the million players argument.
Nexon said that Maplestory has over 90 million users, so I guess Maplestory>WoW then...

    I said it.
100% Agree, i wont buy an Xbox just to play a single game, even if i love its story, lore and world. So sad they made it xbox exclusive :\

Maplestory has 90 million active subscriptions ?!? Holly moly, that's several world records broken over there.

I lost interest in GW in a matter of days.

I really didn't like the combat, actually, i hated it.
The only good thing about GW 2 is the PvP Lobby system and how it promotes skill over gear. And the exploration of their content.

I went from GW2 to Rift in a heartbeat. The PVE is far more entertaining and varied. "But that's me."

As you can see GW2 might be fine for some doesn't mean that people who like another game can't be understood. I really think some people playing GW2 (not all of course) feel that no sub fee means the game is superior in every way and will defend it and possibly force themselves to play it just to say: "Yeah I play everyday on this amazing MMO, who needs a stinking MMO with a sub fee." Yeah your purchase is justified.

Anyways back OT I only tried with my self and two other friends to play GW2 and all 3 of us don't play anymore. Anecdotal evidence at best but it's 3 less players. I've installed it and have zero desire to even re-install it. This game will have it's niche following which is fine but don't knock other games while pounding your chest over this one. Kthx.

Lastly can anyone tell me how many people "medium and full" actually are like a hard number. I see the GW2 servers full at 3:00am or 5:00am in the morning server local time and are all GW2 players really insomniacs?

Judging by the amount of people that were at the Claw of Jormag event at 3 am this morning, yes

I don't think anyone really knows. Developers are usually reluctant to really give hard numbers on this stuff. (EQ was the last MMO I saw that gave population numbers on each server, and even they stopped after a short time)

According to Nexon, 160million players tried the game, and the game had more than 92 million users in 2009.
Of course the numbers are hugely inflacted, just like Blizz. numbers are.

Pretty much all the assumptions people come to regarding why GW2 "is losing" players are pulled out of their ass. I really don't get why some people make it their mission to hate on certain games. Does it threaten their lives in some way? Does it threaten their favorite game? It would be safe to say the answer is "no" to both those questions, which makes me believe some people have too much time on their hands, and enjoy "bashing" other games to get reactions out of people.

Am I saying GW2 is the best game ever? No, but I do enjoy it. People saying the game is "dead" are either clearly not playing, or in an inactive guild so because their guild never has anyone log on, the game is "dead". Also, even if many people have left the game (which given the recent Halloween event, it's very clear a lot of people still play or at least come back for events), it doesn't mean the game is "dead". Dead means gone, void of life. I log in every day, and always see a lot of people around. So it's not "dead" by any means.

It is a great game while you level 1-80, but it sadly doesnt contain any replay-value (even if they tell you that DE's change the out come soooo much... really, they dont), since you're forced to do 100% world completation to get the items for your legendary weapon. Talking about world completation, they also require you to go the PvP zones and also complete all of them to 100%, not just the PvE (leveling) zones, which TOTALLY SUCKS. According to their lore, these zones arent even part of the world but in some sort of mists.

All in all, it gets worse after you hit 80 - then its a gear grind for different sets (YES, you NEED different sets, since they have different STATS on them, which are good in different areas), and honestly, its not worth it.

Don't know about insomnia but I can honestly say I have never seen an MMO more lively at all hours. The only time I have seen anything even close to this type of population density was Dalaran during Wrath of the Lich King. But that was concentrated to a single city.

Virtually every zone event is attended by players. I have yet to see a non-Orr meta event without at least 10+ people showing up. Even at odd hours like 3am on a Tuesday or 5am on a Thursday.

There are a shitton of players in Guild Wars 2. Only a handful of zones are sparse. I think some of those sparser zones are due to the location. Like Iron Marches is sort of a pain to travel to normally and not a lot of exciting events happen there for new players to Guild Wars.

Like I am not sure Joe "I used to play World of Warcraft" Anon is saying, "Awww yea! That's Grenth's Door!" in Lornar's Pass. They just won't get it and the zone is pain in the ass to travel through. Think a lot of zones suffer from pain in the ass accessibility issues, so to speak.

Other than that I can't even see the models of all the people standing around me in Lion's Arch or the model of mobs in Orr due to the sheer onslaught of players.

So because MMO's aren't exactly copying Blizzard, they are a failure? Does game bashing make you feel better about yourself? Why else are you here? You cleary do not play GW2. This is a GW2 forum...why some of hardcore WoW fans come in here baffles me.

I stopped playing as frequently as I used too when I started doing the dungeons (they're crap), but there are still a fun few things to do. The EU servers seem to still mostly be on "High,Full, Medium" and today, seemed very busy when I logged on.

It has no sub, so I log on every now and again. I would hardly say the interest has subsided. I think people just play it when they're bored - like me. I definitely got my money's worth out the game.

Did I say they are a failure ?! Cold numbers say they are, not me.

Also, I didn't know having negative opinions about a game constitutes game bashing. You probably take criticism very hard, as a person.

The only place that I see that volume of people is Cursed Shore. Just all the karma-farma's.

Everywhere else I go I see mobs taking over towns because no one is there! Even in Malchors this last week, I've had to clear out towns to get to vendors, been doing the troop escort quests alone, etc. This is on a server marked Full, so...I just dunno. =/

But....but, Fencers, it's dead! Clearly, because it's not a copy-paste of other popular MMO's, it's a massive failure. All those other people must be bots, then. Oh wait, ANet cracked down on bots big time....then....then, I have no explanation for all these characters you are seeing, so [insert random insult here]!

And here come the personal assumptions. You never did explain why you post here if you don't play GW2. What cold numbers? Please, show me.

First of: people like me are not bashing OTHER games, we are playing GW2 just like you. Our opinion is as much based on our gaming experience as is yours.
We are critical of the game we play, or played... You make it sound like it's non-GW2 players doing the criticising by saying they bash 'other' games.

Second: you have a verysilly way of defining what people should mean by saying GW2 is 'dead'. Of course 'dead' is technically not with anything alive.
You know well enough you are deliberately missing the point here.
In your definition it wouldn't be dead untill the last ever player never logs in again.
Well, by that same definition it was dying the moment someone logged out... Because if a game isn't dead when someone logs in, it's dying when someone logs out or worse: stops playing. The reasoning you put forward is absurd and besides the point. And you should know this.

You know what people mean when they say a game is dying, don't pretend you don't just to win an argument.

I'll tell you something I find rather suspicious and noteworthy myself: how come GW2 needs these shining white knights to go on forums and defend their game with rather irrational arguments, just like you just did?
I sometimes see rational arguments, but mostly I see the same old arguments that are nothing more than 'I like it and I see many others playing'.

Personally I'm trying to hold a genuine discussion on what could be improved in the game, on what the state of the game currently is, on how it did or did not disapoint people. That's not bashing, that's called 'being critical'.
And it just so happens that being critical is a far more superior way of thinking in my book, than trying to shut the critics up by wordgames.

A lot of people spend time in WvW, and more of the "popular" zones. I was in Queensdale last night, and it was full of people. Then I went to Lornar's Pass, and it was void of people. It really varies from zone-to-zone.

I waited a whole week to buy a item which is sold at Grenth's and Balthazar's Temples due to them being contested.
