    Gridworld

Gridworld, what is the point of it?
I can't help but wonder why it is used in an AP Computer Science course when it seems to exist soley as something used by collegeboard on the AP test.

Anyone who is a programmer or skilled in java, if you've taken a class that had used gridworld at somepoint. Do you ever use it again or is it something purely used by collegeboard.

I would post a link, but can't figure out how to copy and paste on this phone.
Type in: Gridworld on google should be the first link.

    Thanks!

Edit: Just got home, here's the gridworld link: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/...ci_a/case.html

For my own edification, this is Gridworld: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GridWorld - hmm, looks like it's meant to be used to teach Object Oriented Programming and... maybe patterns?

Meh, I would rather learn straight up Java, because that is what the course is about, along with a little bit of history on computers.

Do not underestimate the importance of object-oriented programming and design patterns in the actual work market.
