So a paladin just absorbed not 1 but 2... ToD's

In the course of one arena match I had a paladin somehow absorb 2 ToD's. Was there anything I could have done to prevent this?

The first time was rather hilarious. I got him below 10%, popped ToD heard the kill sound and immedately flying tiger kicked to my druid partner who was about to die. I said over vent "Paladins dead"... druid replied "Then why is he healing the warrior?

I couldn't believe it. I was under the impression that if you got a ToD off it was an insta kill, even through their bubble? It happened again later in the match as well. This time after the bubble I was able to lock him down and finish him off.

Touch of death doesn't work on players.
With the PvP set bonus it does if they are below 10% health.

Touch of Death doesn't kill so much as it does damage equivalent to your hp that isnt affected by defensive cooldowns. i believe it doesn't work on bubbles though.
Anyone ever notice how the sun seems to shine silverish now? Didn't it used to shine goldish? PM me if you've noticed this.

It just happened again, twice in one rated BG. A tank warrior absorbed 457k and a hunter deflected it with deterrance.

I have like 250 hours on this monk and this is the first I am seeing of this. Was there a change today?

Granted, I killed him immediately after but wtf? It's called touch of death, not touch of can be absorbed / deflected.

Hey guys, I heard a rumor that the 4pc pvp set bonus allows you to use ToD on player targets below 10% health. confirm/deny.

Dont think they intended to copy what the previous poster wrote.

ontopic: that have happened several times for me on a hunter with deterence

Both Touches have an annoying bug (or maybe it's not a bug) where they do their sound effect and animation even if they're not applied. Touch of Death does damage equal to your max HP. It doesn't actually do the Instakill effect, so that means Divine Shield would make him immune to the damage. The only thing unique about Touch of Death's damage is that it's unaffected by damage taken effects.

In that combat log screenshot, are you sure that was a Warrior? You were hitting a Risen Ally, so maybe it was actually a Death Knight that triggered Purgatory from Touch of Death. Now Puragtory blocking it may actually be a bug, but maybe not.

If you look below, the warrior absorbed over 450k damage from my ToD which was about 70k more than I had at that moment so ToD was doing more damage than my health by far.

Pretty sure it has never worked through deterrence and I bet Dbts is the same thing. Pally Bubble is obvious.

Absorbs and immunities have always affected ToD afaik. At least the absorbs on the Mogu casters for the Golden Lotus dailies saves them from dying to my ToD when I don't interrupt them.

It could have been a DK. I was surrounded by about 3 guys at the time though so I'm not 100% sure and don't exactly remeber the enemy team composition. Very possible though.

"Your touch of Death hit Grokert-Aman'thul"

    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...okert/advanced

guess you are right, it was a dk and not a warrior

Either way, how was the DK able to 'absorb' 457k+ and ontop of that, why did my ToD do that much damage in the first place when I only had 360-380k HP? There's something very weird about this skill.

Touch of death set bonus is pretty shitty and useless. Its only cool to see a big number. Ppl have 350k HP roughly. 10% of that is 35,000 and just about anything we have can do enough damage to kill them. If they're at 10%a HP they're just going to die anyways. I demand a new set bonus that isn't total shit.
