While not really needed, i guess its cool. I don't see why they decided to add this, maybe people have a hard time using their eyes... or their brains -_-
The complaints tend to be either about the bugs that Blizzard can't fix quickly(the fishing tournament being delayed until 5.1, passengers on 2-seat mounts being dismounted when crossing zones, occasionally a second of lag when you cross zones) and not being able to be alone when playing an MMO.
Basically, people are yelling for the entire feature to be scrapped and the developers fired because they can't get 1 title or are inconvenienced for about a second. WoWplayers.jpg
Yeah, I'm not turning up the volume to listen to Silent Nic. Again.
Spectator mode exists on private servers already, not that I approve of that sort of thing. But if amateurs without access to the source can bolt it on, then Blizzard can too. Plus it already sort of is in place with your dead partner etc.
Good god... why do those morons always think they speak for the entire community? Can't really wish for the blue's to not answer either but seriously some people need to put a god damn lit on it >_<
I like your suggestion, but it doesn't solve the real problem that CRZs are designed to fix: Blizz having to pay to run servers with 3 people on them. (Which could be solved by server mergers, but that won't happen because it would involve publicly admitting how many non-Asian players they've lost since Wrath.)
It's amazing Blizzard went that far. Although LoseControl may loose customers, it still has one amazing feature this built in-game interface function has not. The timers on LC can be moveable which is perfect because I personally don't like having a giant icon sitting above my head. I usually set it up on my unit frames.
WoW isn't dying. 8.3m = early BC subs.W/L/Death count: Wolf: 0/1/1 | Mafia: 0/4/4 | TPR: 0/2/2SK: 0/1/1 | VT: 1.5/1.5/3 | Cult: 0/0/1LFR has made raids economically viable again. No LFR, no raids!Hence, Normal raiders should be thanking LFR players, not belittling them.
its really that silly of a problem. People think other people from other servers dont count as real people basically.
Apparently they joined low population server because they wanted to play in an abandoned server, and they're mad they have to play the game like Blizzard envisioned the game to be played.
It's really no different than private server people bitching, even beyond the legal issues. You dont get to exploit a lull in the playerbase, sorry. I know you thought it was within the rules, but the rules were changed.
Then there are people who claim they dont mind sharing quests and nodes, they just dont like the transitional glitches, which Blizzard will fix over time, but they act like Blizzard isn't cutting it as an excuse to moan about CRZ.

I watched a video of spectator mode on a private server, and all it is is a fairly simple plugin that teleports spectators' characters right into an arena map in progress and gives them invisibility/neutral faction. Blizzard's spectator mode would almost certainly be much more involved than that, more along the lines of SC2's or GW1's spectating where you can either have a detached camera or you can view the action from one of the participant's PoVs. Additionally, a true spectator mode would need to have a short time delay, which would not be a trivial thing to implement. They'd essentially have to record the contents of each game, keeping track of any data necessary to re-create a deterministic replay of the match later for spectators, including every single movement packet, skill use, spell cast, unit targeting, random number generation and so forth. It's nowhere near as simple as that private server's method.
I would really love a spectator mode, but I can also definitely appreciate the massive undertaking that would be required to create the infrastructure for it, especially since it's sort of a niche thing that most people will use only once or twice. Blizzard has done it before with their RTS games so I'm sure they can pull it off (though, creating a replay system for a lock-step game like SC2/WC3 is probably very different than doing it for something like WoW) it's just a matter of resources. And unlike pet battles, which can probably have been finished by a small team of UI programmers and a server engineer or two, this feature would require a lot of people to finish.
LoseControl users aren't customers, though. Hell, if Blizzard recreated any one of my addons and included them into the base game I'd be ecstatic. (And they sorta did, for a very small feature at least. Patch 5.1 adds something similar to my PetCaught addon.)
I'll probably continue to use LC, because like you said, it's more configurable. But when Blizzard recreates popular addons and includes them into the default UI, they're not trying to "put the addon author out of business" (so to speak, obviously nobody's making money off of addons), they're just trying to bring a cool feature to more people, since lots of players can't or won't use any addons. They aren't really meant for the hardcore people who use 100 addons and want to tweak every little setting, but it's always nice to have more choice.

We need warning for everything, like: Health getting low, almost dead, and you're dead
Also: HP is full, you just got hit by some fire and maybe a you're currently standing in shit you shouldn't. so many things the devs could waste their time on!
Seriously, they always go on about how the dev time is very precious and that they won't waste time on silly little things, yet they add displays for crap people have been aware of since vanilla and should still be to this date. Damn..
@Daralii
"and not being able to be alone when playing an MMO."
I giggled.
About the talent stuff, it has been existing for at least one year on this site : World of Wargraphs ... I don't understand why this particular website is never spotlighted here![]()

The site you linked to shows talents, not glyphs.Popular Glyphs
Guildox recently added a new feature that will show you which glyphs are popular with the top 5% of players, broken down by PvP and PvE. If you are looking for the popular glyphs for your class, this should help!
...Mage Warlock Shaman. anyone see a trend
So much complaining... Especially about class balance, mechanics etc. We are going on 8 years boys and girls... If they cannot manage to fix it by now, you can bet its not going to get fixed.
They can spew all their PR about how in this next expansion they have finally made it fair and balanced all they want.
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! lol
