I dont understand how anybody gets gold solo

It makes you a realist, because in real life the other team isn't always 5 complete shitters because there are other people like you trying to get where they belong, 2000+ and pro players making smurfs, etc. If you happen to be someone who plays smart and hits a bad streak where the other team has the other 2-3 people in that game that know how to play smart, there isn't a ton you can do. I think I am a fairly prime example of that being someone who out of ~100 solo queue and 100 ranked team games last season hit 1320 max in solo, and hit 1668 in team winning against several teams with 2k+ elo solo queue players.

My point being solo queue can be a total crapshoot unless you do hundreds of games to even out the statistics. I find it hard to see why people place so much importance on it when solo queue doesn't teach you how to be a good player, it's just normals where you can see your elo and can't cheese it by 3-5 queing.

Does anyone know why I can't post on riot forums as well? I can't ask any questions I want there which is why I came here. Everytime I login to riots website & go to the forums it says access denied, my roommate has this issue as well, both level 30, start playing about a year ago.

Is there something special I have to do or is it broken?

u rlly just got break past the point of heavy trolls although unfortunately there are cases such as yesterday me and my friend call mid and support, i take my support first pick, second pick is lux we try asking him what hes doing no answer assuming hes a troll my friend takes mid, when we get in game we see hes gold and higher elo then us and claims he doesnt have to speak in pregame chat cause hes higher elo then us and should assume he is going mid without saying anything

You probably have the bug going around with staying logged into general discussion on there forum. To fix it you just go to log in normally, and in the denied page you hit log out, then log back in normally and it should be fixed for a while at least.
