    Webcams for Skype

I've used audio Skype for gaming but never video chat.

I want to buy two compatible webcams so that my father can video Skype with my sons.

    Anyone have recommendations or tips?

Below is a link to best selling webcams on Amazon.

    Thanks!

It all depends on the quality you need for skype. Logitech ones are quite good, you dont need to go for the whole 1080p ones if you're not in a demand for a solid crisp clear webcam session. Microsoft lifecam have gotten some great reviews. So when you buy a webcam think of what you are gonna use it for. Maybe you wanna stream in the future, then it might be nice to pick up an 1080p one.

I have this one here. It was once considered to be the best price/performance webcam available.

Perfect picture, with manual on/off LED lights for Skype convs during the night.

They can Skype on their smartphones or tablets too which have camera's.

If they have those of course.

    I've got http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Life...soft+cinema+hd

Amazing little webcam. I've never personally used it for Skype, but i can vouch for the quality from general recordings. It's rather expensive, but worth every penny.

    Thanks for the replies.

I didn't think to ask, but how's the audio with the built-in mics?

The one i linked is actually more clear than any mic i've ever used. It does pick up all the background noise unfortunately, but it's very clear. I'm fairly sure there'll be a voice clip test of it on Youtube or such.
