Conflict of Interest for Curse/Network and honest discourse?

Is there a conflict of interest because of close financial interests in the games they cover and they way their forums are moderated? Dissent is treated more harshly here than on the official forums.

Dissent is often expressed in ways that invite infractions. It's really that simple. If you imagine there's some unstated rule that says "Infract those that dissent" you would be quite mistaken.

Dissent (from what exactly since you never stated) is fine as long as it's constructive. I can pretty much assure you that as long as your position is reasonable, backed up by some facts or at least well-formed opinions, isn't trolling anyone, or isn't personally attacking somebody it will be left alone.

In fact, I probably would close a thread that simply says that WoW is gaining subscriptions that had no evidence whatsoever to back that up. The simple fact is that threads like that are flamebait.

And since you are lacking anything in the way of facts to support your original supposition and this thread is likely to go nowhere other than defenses and accusations about MMO-C, I'm closing this thread as well.
