You did it to a paladin, so it's all right. It's natural selection

But regardless, I suppose if he clicked it when a portal was in no way asked for or required, he probably was a bit of an idiot.
I hate to tell you but it's basic human instinct. I suppose the wording 'troll' has its own stigma and maybe if I had used a less irksome word like 'pranking' or 'joking' it'd have a different effect on your and many other's minds.

There is no difference (in my mind) between a harmless prank such as this than there is from, say, unscrewing the top to a salt shaker at a restaurant or giving your brother a wedgie. Sure, it's going to make someone mad, but it's not done with the SOLE intent TO make someones day worse.

There is only so much 'happy' in the world to go around, and 100% of the time to get YOUR version of enjoyment you must take someone elses away. When you do battlegrounds or arenas, and you win, are you thinking about how upset the other team is? No. You are happy you won. But on the other side of the fence, someone IS, and always will be, bummed out. Its a matter of how you look at it, and how seriously you take it.

But isn't this a game? Aren't we meant to have fun? I had fun at the expense of one other persons fun. I'm not debating this. But TOXICITY is a harsh word to use to describe it, lol. Maybe take this game a bit less seriously, yeah?
You had fun messing up someone else's game? I do not think that is always fun. Someone might think its fun to go to your house, trash your room and use your bed as a toilet. They could be rolling around laughing but you may not find it such fun. I believe in karma so maybe one day when others are having a good laugh at something that happens to you remember all the 'fun' you had in game fucking over someone else

If you think I've lived my 27 years on this earth without someone having fun at my expense, in some sort of bubble, then I want to know what you are smoking so I can have a taste. Placing a portal as a joke does not equal shitting on someones bed, please take a seat.

That's also why as a healer its great to "slack" instead of focusing on keeping everyone who is taking unnecessary damage topped off. If some fellow nearly dies (or dies) he'll make sure not to take unnecessary damage. I've been on both sides of the fence in this regard. Like first boss Jade Serpent some DPS just like to stand in the swirling beam (dealing 50% of their health as damage). Its always ranged, and almost always an arcane mage (why be arcane anyway?). Tank says, heal the mage. I'm thinking like if you wanna be so pro, go use blink, ice block, and evocate but if you wanna slack I'll show you you got queued with the wrong healer.

So I can say, lighten up. F.e. getting ganked is much worse waste of time (for both persons) than a silly prank like this.
I love judgemental healers. I love MDing on them and watching them squeal, especially if it's the tank who asked me to do it

I was laughing until I opened my map and noticed just how far the graveyard is from the drop location, and as he was ghost running to rez, the group got impatient and vote kicked him.

I'm sure he was raging and probably wants to fuck me up big time but...I just can't stop laughing. Am I a bad person? I guess I knew if anyone clicked it they'd die...but I did it while we were still doing trash and such, figured he'd have plenty of time to tell me I'm a prick and rez and port back in...

But yeah, if you have played this trick (or had it played on you) what do you think? Is karma a bitch?
    LOL

Sounds like something I would do

HAHAHAHA This is classic. As funny as summoning everyone to the real EoE in LFR and then pulling malygos.....

I killed many people in my raid when I used this port. They do they rage-quit leave thing and click the portal without looking at what it is...I had fun.

That doesn't make you a bad person...just a good mage.

I used to love trolling my guildies back in the kara days.... GM fell for the Exodar port every time, just wish I had this back then.

Oh yeah, man I wish Dalaran still had portals or any real reason to go to it. As it is, its hard enough to get people to click a REAL portal to Dalaran. I suppose I'll have to keep on with the "Have you heard about Jaina throwing the Horde out of Dalaran? Dude you gotta see this shit. Here, take this port. You'll see what I mean." to my friends for now. God help me if Dalaran ever becomes truly Horde hostile - then I'll NEVER get anyone to click the damn thing!

The portal to stoneard at the end of every TBC raid was hilarious fun. My raids Mage in TBC was such a funny fucker.

Sounds like he and I would get along!

    I've done it, it's amusing.
Besides, anyone who clicks a portal to Dalaran and not Shrine of the Two Moons/Suns is just asking for trouble.
Because it should be immediately fishy.
But I've been dropping these portals at the end of LFR (I will let people try for their loot first!) and have gotten a few people with it.
Most just laugh it off, some are like "Holy wtf, portal glitch?!" and a rare few get angry.
But I'll also usually take the portal too and give them a real port afterward. :P

Haha, that's awesome. I look forward to this prank happening to me someday.

I am a karma-specialist :-) And this is just humor; I read it and laughed. It is a great joke to play on someone, really.
This is not bad karma, this is hilarious.

[Since DS i have learned to check before clicking]

I think you should have told the raid what you did and why he is this late..... would be hilarious for the raid to make fun of it and him during the raid.

Haha, maybe you're right. I might have told the raid about the joke if half of them didn't jump to vote kick the poor paladin showing me that they were in serious business mode and not in the mood for pranks. After seeing some of the butthurt responses here in this thread I think some of them may have been in that raid with me tonight...

Nope you're not a bad person they deserved for clicking on the portal.
Now I have a reason to level my mage again, I really want to try this out thanks .
Life doesn’t get easier, we just grow stronger.

Causing someone else grief for your amusement, yes you are a horrible person and part of what is wrong with this game.

I never get tired of seeing this argument. I am 'part of what is wrong with this game'? I suppose it should go unnoticed when I drop a banquet which cost my own time to level cooking and mats to craft it, right? Again, its all how you look at it. If you choose to get upset over every little thing that IS funny (which is not up for debate at this point after 3 pages of people agreeing it is indeed a funny prank) then that is your cue to take a step back and maybe take a break.

The only 'part of what is wrong with this game' are players like you who refuse to see the fun in things and treat every thing they do as super serious business.

It's funny and it's mostly his fault for clicking it, but I wouldn't expect you to feel bad because you're a Mage.
I'd bet that you created the portal on top of the banquet, though.
