bring the MMR not the player

kind of sad that its very difficult to get into a rated battleground if you dont have a 1800 rating. there about 2 groups that do rated and they always say

LF <what ever> FOR RBG PST achievement and have 1800 MMR or dont PST

    good design i think (not)

Good design? In what sense is this Blizzard's fault. It's the elitists on your server.

This just experienced PvPers are looking for experienced PvPers.

Yeah it sucks. I love BG and hate arena, yet I have never been able to actually play ANY RBG because I do not have the arena rating.

So much for RBG being a viable alternative to arena for conquest points.
You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever, But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun...
And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise, And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body, Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.

Make your own team then work for your rating? Why do you think someone else should boost you?
Why you think the Net was born? Porn! Porn! Porn!

Tried that and it won't work. Every time I have gotten close to having a full group someone else who joins and has a high rating will poach the group.

I'm not asking to be boosted, I'm asking to play. Been playing a long time and know the games, I am a team player and don't mind staying at my post even if there is little to no action. I play to win and get compliments for my play in randoms all the time. I just don't like arena, and think it's bogus that one has to do arena to be able to play in the alternative to arena.

If you think about it, it's actually the opposite of this.

Do you bring someone with previous experience and who you know is good but is on an alt or hasn't played much this season, or someone you don't even know, but who has current rating that will increase the groups overall MMR and increase the chance of queueing into teams that will boost everyone's rating more per win?

It works much better in arena because you can make up for someone bringing your MMR average down just by an hour or two of wins, in RBG you might only be playing for a few hours so you need high MMR from the very start.

The whole idea of giving greater rewards to people with higher rating is crap, and contributes to making the game work, rather than fun.

People should PvP because they want to, not because they have MMR to maintain, or points to get.

1800 isn't really "experienced," but yes, that is true. People like playing with those who are similarly (or better) experienced than them anyway.

Yep. This is how it works. It's very lame, but sadly this is the case. Only those with a consistent RBG group, from the start of every season, gets to do proper RBG.

In arena you can always be succesful if you have somewhat competetive gear and you play with good partners.

No but 1800 seems to be more experienced than the OP is, otherwise he'd have the rating needed to join and wouldn't be bitching about it on the forums.

Nothing to do with experience requirements or elitism, it's cause they don't want to get hit with -17 rating when they lose. I know CR and MMR are different things, but every time I join a low CR group the mmr is always low and a loss hammers my rating, while a win gives +1 if I'm lucky or 0 if I'm not. When I join a group with the same average CR as me, the MMR is always around the same value and loses are more palatable (and wins more rewarding).

If you can't find a group on your server, use #RBG.EU (and probably #RBG.US) on IRC - there are often low CR groups advertising there.

Not at all - get on IRC and add gamertags to your friends list. There are no non-cap pug groups on my server, but I can always get a team cross-server and have 20 contacts who often broadcast LFG/LFM messages.

Your point? Or do you just get off on pretending to be superior to every other WoW player?

On one hand, I see people going "WANT 2k RBG EXP" while being 1300 arena players, and haven't even done a single RBG themselves, but just want to get carried. Same shit goes for PVE, and people making PUGS for raids.

On the other hand, if they're looking for 1800 players, and their MMR is 1800 there is no point in bringing a 1500 player with them that can't compete on the same level.

Though I avoid RBG's generally. In Cata I was playing 2.3k on my mage(3's), and this guy was asking for a 1600 RBG, and I he wouldn't let me in, because he thought I wasn't good enough or some shit like that.

you can lie about your mmr there's no way to check it
    usually CR is the problem
