quick LFR loot question

So i read how they fiddled around with the LFR loot system but i got a question if i may.
Now, i know that you can get either a gold bag or loot, and that loot will be only gear that i can use (no cloth or warriors), but is that loot relevant to my spec?
Can i get a sword from a boss even though i am specced mutilate?
Can i get tanking gear with parry from a boss even though i am specced frost?
so on so forth

You only get spec-specific gear. There are a few weird situations though where if your a boomkin you might get feral gear or an ele shaman might get enh gear, because they are both flagged as dps for that class.
