    205/180RPM sounds about right. I was only remembering the part about being so low RPM I couldn't boot without changing a BIOS setting. :P

    I never understood why they would make such massive freaking heat sinks. I'm sure they work amazingly well, but seriously? I got one of the huge ones recently (can't remember the name) and the thing not only stuck out of the side of my case by about 3 inches, but also the pipes made two of my RAM slots unusable.

    Yeah and that's why you check compatibility beforehand...

    They make them big for best cooling possible, and to be exceptionally good on the majorly hot CPUs, like Intel's i7 Extremes. (Which this one even denotes in its name.)

    I assume you're referring to the Sandy Bridge-Extreme, not the 3960X, 3970X and the similarly X-suffixed models from Intel through the generations.

    What I mean is, you mean the socket 2011, rather than only the 'X' models.
