Can't help feeling that music will have moved on somewhat 900 years from now :P

I've heard of maybe one or two bands on that list, and can't name a single song by either.
I don't hate you. I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence.

The fact you have Enter Shikari right up near the top makes me happy...

I've not really bought that many albums recently tbh. I've been listening to some old ones more recently.

    Rarely updated...

This was the exact feel I had after reading the list.

Why would that matter at all? Popularity has little to nothing to do with quality in artistic mediums.

As for the list, most of my purchases this year were of older material, so I can't come up with a list this long. Out of the new stuff, I'd say that Koloss (Meshuggah), Les Voyages De L'Ame (Alcest), In Via (Frames), and Leichenhaus (Bereft) were the best.

Still too early to make a list, but I'm probably gonna have:

    - The Tallest Man On Earth
    - Swans
    - Godspeed You! Black Emperor
    - Fiona Apple
    - Converge
    - Loma Prieta
    - Dark Time Sunshine

On it, considering the quality of the albums they all dropped. Who knows though, December may blast my face off with good music.

It was more of a commentary on my own taste. Bands that I like haven't exactly been at the top of the charts lately either, many of them haven't even produced any new material in decades.

I know there's still plenty of good music being made today, but for some reason I can't be bothered to dig through the crap to find it like I used to do when I was younger... so I'll often just listen to my old favorites. And 15-20+ years ago I actually liked a lot of the music that had chart success, these days I can't stand it.

Cheers Fuzzzie! It was a typo. I should have double checked everything before posting.
Everyone has different taste. Just post your lists. Maybe you will encourage someone to check out an album or 2 and they will find their new favourite band.

Gonna list my top albums of the year but I wont list a top 20 as some of those brought this year haven't been all that great :P

    In no order...

Reel Big Fish - Candy Coated Fury
    Cosmo Jarvis - Think Bigger
    The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten
Owl City - The Midsummer Station
The All American Rejects - Kids in the Street
    Matchbox Twenty - North
    InMe - The Pride
    Linkin Park - Living Things
    Papa Roach - The Connection
    Shinedown - Amaryllis
Three Days Grace - Transit of Venus
    The Used - Vulnerable

  14. #14
    1.The Faceless - Autothiesm
    2.Periphery - Periphery II : This Time, It's Personal
    3.Whitechapel - Whitechapel
4.Attack Attack! - This Means War
    5.Veil Of Maya - Eclipse
    6.Chelsea Grin - Evolve (EP)
    7.As I Lay Dying - Awakened
    8.Cannibal Corpse - Torture
    9.The Used - Vulnerable
    10.Dragonforce - The Power Within
    11.MGK - Lace Up
12.2 Chainz - Based on a TRU Story
13.Testament - Dark Roots Of The Earth
14.The Fray - Scars and Stories
    15.The Killers - Battle Born
16.All American Rejects - Kids in the street
----From This Point Down I didn't even buy these albums, but am filling out up to the rest of 20 with ones I considered buying but didn't----
    17.Linkin Park - Living Things
    18.Rush - Clockwork Angels
    19.Lamb Of God - Resolution
    20.Coheed & Cambria - The Afterman : The Ascension
(It should be noted I thought #13 through #16 should honestly have also ended up in the not bought section, I have barely listened to those, a few great songs on each but the rest is extremely "mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh")

Also, originally released in 1990, "Spiritual Healing" by Death has been remastered and re-released. If you want to figure that counts... then you could put it in at about #3 on my list

Overall? Not a great year for music IMO. My top 5 here I thoroughly enjoyed those albums from start to finish. But the rest was all basically "meh" overall.... lots of "filler" tracks I didn't care much for among a just few great tracks on all the rest...

    Savage Messiah-Plague of Conscience
    Accept-Stalingrad
    Paragon-Force of Destruction

    Orden Ogan-To the End
    Ex Deo-Caligvla
    Grave Digger-Clash of the Gods
