^thats the rig i was thinking of buying and building. just over my budget of $1000. Let me tell you what im wanting to do. I want to start doing youtube videos and maybe streaming in the next year or so, mostly world of warcraft but other games as well...will this rig let me stream in 720p? and will it also give me top of the line quality in youtube videos? any suggestions or tweaks would be great.

Since ill be doing video recording that has sound/music with it. will i need to bother with a soundcard or will onboard sound be fine?

I would definitely get a better HD, those have pretty bad track records. You get what you pay for with computer parts.

Onboard is usually plenty. Sound cards are best used when you need high quality incoming sound such as from a Mic. And even then onboard does fine.

you do not need a soundcard for recording anything. i would be surprised if you could notice any difference through the video. they're pretty unnecessary except for maybe hardcore orchestral music fans.
