Question A little RAID-0 help please

It has been about 6 years since i last set up a raid. I know a few things have changed. Here is my situation.

    2 240gb or 256gb SSD's (either OCZ Vertex 4's or Corsair Neutron GTX's)

Motherboard i will be getting is the ASUS Maximus V Formula

I know the black sata ports are SATAII, and the first 2 red sata ports are SATAIII from the Integrated controller in the chipset,

Would those 2 be the ones for the SSD's? (the other 4 red are controlled by the asmedia chip and don't perform as good)
What mode do i set them in?
    what screen in the bios?

If i set the config to RAID, then can the asmedia ports be used for HDD's (storage / backup drive(s))

Photo's , video or detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.

use the two integrated ports for the SSDs

you can still use the other SATA2 ports in a non-raid like normal drives

Since it seems you are unsure which SSD to choose - I'd say the Neutron GTXs. Good luck!

Really it does more with which goes on sale in the next couple of weeks since the build wont go together till after the first of the year. Off sale the minor increase in performance from the Corsairs would not justify the premium on the price over the OCZ's.

My questioning as far as raid on the sata III is concerned has been resolved by using the 2 sata III from the intel controller, and the data/ backup drives will use the asmedia controller since they are mechanical drives and i wont have to worry about pushing the interface limit speed wise

I'm not even saying for the minor increase in performance or whatever, but rather Corsair's consistency with quality products and backing them up with warranties and being on the side of the customer, which OCZ seems to lack. Customer service is worth something.

To add: I'd suggest a Crucial m4 or Samsung 840 also, before any of OCZ's SSDs.
