Well it has come to my attention via the suggestions forum that some others, including myself would like to see a science forum, if we can't have that, why not make a massive megathread full of science goodness? Post science news here!
To start it off, some rather dispiriting news from NASA discrediting the rumours that had been flying around about Curiosity's discovery:

And some slightly brighter news, the oldest, most distant object seen by humans in the universe.

And a cool video from SciShow commenting on it:
Gravitational Lens, what an amazing concept.
So anyways, some groundrules for this thread, No discussion of religion, please try and have credible sources before posting news/information, don't be an ass to people, and try and keep the discussion relevant.
Let the intellectual discussion commence! (And remember, keep it civil)

Mercury has ice on it, albeit at the poles, but still amazing nevertheless.

Well, I suppose what the mods said in the suggestions forum was even more true than I thought, people just aren't interested in it...

It's difficult to discuss things like this properly given a megathread.
