I am a little sad to see the lack of green fire, but i play affliction anyway so not that I would get to enjoy it. And what the hell are you talking about? warlocks are awsome! look at the change to Kil´jaedens cunning. We literaly never have to stand still EVER again!. And going to court or just law way because you are generally misspleased with, what is probaly just a delay because of techical issues with the quest and regarding the spell it needs some tweeking regarding pvp. I think if you take a step back, chill and then look at the case with a new look you can see that every thing is just fine. And also I really doubt that any good lawyer would even consider this taking this on against blizzard. We might as well throw more cash in their face, while we stack up on noob tears for the next celestial steed.

Every class has its fair share of flaws, but overall Warlocks are in a good place right now.

If you think you have been, um, 'tricked' read the terms of use before you EVEN consider trying to sue. That said, if you want your money back, then call blizzard, cancel your account and see if they will refund you. Yes, you could sue, but you'd lose, AND you'd have to pay the cost of the court's time, AND you'd have to pay for Blizzard's attorney fees.

To say you are the 'red headed stepchild' is less than dishonest, its a flat out lie.

Personally, I'd tell you if you are this upset, then cancel your account, and uninstall the software and move on with your life.

It should, than our class developer had been fired, and all has gone wrong from that point on.

I have to say I didn't know Xelnath b4 he was fired, and at the beginning i didn't believe Blizz would throw away all the work done to the class and trash it again, so i didn't worry about it, and waited the actual patch to play again the game because, for working reasons, i had to stop for a month.

I am back, and i am totally confused with what the hell happened to this company to be so dumb to simply work against his very players.

Not only the patch is totally missing the so needed changes to the class, but we have been even nerfed to trhe ground in PvP, wich have to be explained some way, given the fact no actual top team have a warlock in....

We all know that, for a totally questionable company philososofy, Blizz won't explain his action, nor will give us any good reason to wait; in fact, i have been tricked to pay a fee i wouldn't have paid with the promise of improvements to my class that in fact won't be in game.

Hell, we have watched the spell animation, seen the new icons, read the books and dialogues of NPCs, it was not a rumor, I was pretty sure it will be in the 5.1 patch, so i decided to stay and enjoy the improvements to the class.

A case where players take a class action against a software house will make to the front page of many press, and perhaps, finally, the company will start to listen and take into consideration his playerbase.

I really cant believe we are at this point, but after a month where it seemed totally sure many promises wuold finally be respected, i feel really joked by this patch and the attitude of Blizz about this class.
You aren't being honest. This kind of mentality doesn't work for an mmo. Sorry bro, but you're coming off as uneducated, immature, and entitled. Anything can and will be changed in a video game. You agree to that. Whether you think you did or didn't, you did. There is no "Teaching lessons". It's a video game. If you're too addicted to live without the game, than you should just stop playing. But this will go nowhere. Just like that other "class action". Just whiny players that want some kind of control over the game to give themselves some satisfaction in their miserable lives.

This isn't a cause, and you aren't "Standing up for your rights.". This is the kind of bullshit that is wrong with out justice system. This is just like the "Have you taken Zoloft in the past 5 years?" commercials. Complete horseshit. You're the one that needs a lesson. In life.

Oh man! I was hoping when I clicked this that I interpreted the title right. And I did! This is a whole new level of pathetic. I'm just waiting for the "Blizz is forcing us to do dailies! Your class actions are belong to us." threads to start popping up. Man, you need a reality check op. It's a game for crying out loud. You are treating this as anything but.
Perfect example of why "community" forums are poisonous to the health of a development team. These developers are wasting hundreds of hours trying to stem the tide of incessant bitchery that would never, ever abate so long as these entitled, unfortunate human beings don't get their way.

One of the more OP arena specs in arena, with so many viable comps (Demo) - check

One off the more broken specs in RBG in destro - check

One of the better FC/Defenders etc in demo DA - check

OP dmg in PvE since 5.1 in Aff - check

All 3 viable specs in PvE - check

What a ridiculously horrible and awfully stupid thread.

So, a day after, i am back to this topic.

Glad to see it has generated a good amount of reasonable responses, aside from the inevitable flames, I want to just say last few things that perhaps i didn't make clear, or i have submerged in wall of text:

Whatever you are may be forced to accept to play a game, the terms of use in those contracts may be declared not valid by a court.
I have asked to the lawyer office of my company if my ideas about a legal action against Blizz was totally out of this world, consider that we usually dwell in much more "serious" business involving the development and promotion of surgical devices, so they were quietly amused from the request; today i am a little less upset, but still convinced that the way this software house treat theyr customers and make use of marketing and promotional strategies are to be considered misleading for the final customer.

The law department response is that a similar request is more than legitimate, even if the company make you accept the statement, the combination of the marketing strategies with annual subscriptions make totally invalid the fact that you accept the terms; in fact you accept the fact that the company may say, and show you in beta test whatever they think will make you pay your ticket, than simply deny it because you signed a forced contract; in many fields of business it wouldn't be considered a legal procedure, because just give too much freedom to the company to appeal customers to subscribe services they are not able or intended to give.

The fact is, the entire process won't bring much money away from the company, and won't be a great gain in terms of money for the legals that may follow the action, aside from a good way to go on newspapers, so it is very unlikely anyone will ever take the time and effort to bring the whole thing in front of a judge.

Aside from these considerations, for me it has been this patch, for others may have been other cases, but the way Blizzard interact with its customers is nearly mad, as the guys at legal office have said (aside from joking me for taking so much seriously this game) reading this whole thread, many are nearly scared to disturb the company, fearing retorsions for asking clarifications or reasoning, in some way this whole community remind them a sort of scientology, and now that i see it from theyr prospective, i can quietly say it is true....

Again, it was not because my class is too weak or i want my fire to be green, what really made me go mad was the way this company interact with us, i have read here "finally after 8 years we are enjoing the class, do not QQ"....it is incredible to my eyes...i paid for 8 years, i totally DESERVE a playable and enjoiable class, it is not the case i must be thankful with Blizz if it starts to give me decent content in last few months, i hope someone here catch this point.

Again, thanks for the good discussion, i apologize for not perfect english and for the lenght of my responses, a double thank for all the few that take the time to read.^^

you better read the EULA you signed, then scrap that idea of getting a lawyer...

Just an example to clear your minds, perhaps someone can understand better the point:

Say a new game is coming out, that greatly appeal the player base of WoW, the marketing offices of the company may consider to put out a series of new intended content, show animations, new marvelous abilities and questlines, like mages unleashing incredible magical storms, hunters able to tame epical beasts and so on, even giving you the opportunity to try them in a beta test, than chain this with a new promotion for subscription; than, when they have gathered enough postive response, just postpone everything to a not clear future time.

Aside the contract you may have accepted (these kind of contracts are far from being unaffected by a law action) you may be upset to be misleaded to pay a content you wont be having, and the marketing behaviour of the company may be considered fraudolent and unfair in regard of the customers and other companies.

Hope this can explain better the point.

LOL I think OP learned his lesson after page one, how many more pages of total ownage must I witness?

The fuck? so because they changed something your not happy about, you think your entitled to an entire refund from the day you started playing?

Incase you forgot, for MoP you got a total overhaul of your class, a independant class system for each spec, options for new pets or to go petless to match more into warlock lore,

You at some point are actually get the class quest and green fire, just not this patch

Cataclysm wasn't removed, its been held back while they re work it, because it wasn't working as they thought it would.

You need to get a fucking grip

Also I could be totally wrong here, but Im in the middle of leveling all my chars to 90, and except the warlock I don't see any mention of anyone else getting a class quest at 90 with a unique reward

lol, I may agree, i totally missed the way to comunicate the idea, but if you take the time to read what i wrote today, i think many can agree.

They may not understand why i got so upset for, but in the end, the way Blizzard can play with its customers is totally unfair, and the devotion and fear many players demonstrate in regard of the company simply confirm the fact they have developed an insane interaction with its own customers.

I do not claim to be great at any class I play...... I only pve and mostly (at this stage entirely) with questing and LFR. Having said that I have four lvl90 characters at the moment, resto shaman, frost mage, frost dk and affliction lock. Of these my lock is currently my best character - regularly doing 60k+ - 70k+ on boss fights. This may not be "top of the meters" but I am quite happy with where it is. I am often around 5-10 on recount - I find this a comfortable place to be. If I was bothered to be "the best" then I am sure I could (or other better players could anyway) do more damage, fine tune my rotation etc etc. I regularly see other locks higher (and lower) than me, as well as every other class. There is not a single class that I see always ahead of me. My interpretation of this is that gear and player skill is making the difference - NOT how great or bad a class is. Just my 2p worth.

The problem is that Blizzard didn't do this, like at all.
99% of the things people are excited about came from Datamining, they were not promised by Blizzard. The only information we had about the questline prior to hearing that it was postponed was that "it existed", we didn't even know the reward for sure until a couple of days ago.

The things you got excited about were conjecture from other players, not promises from the game's developers. They were quite well-informed guesses, but still guesses, and you should never have pinned your hopes so firmly onto them in the first place.

Warlocks are in a strong place in both PvE and PvP, have several viable specialisations in both and recently recieved a major class overhaul. They have had more developer attention recently than almost anyone else. To take Blizzard to court at this point would not only be silly, misinformed, rude, pointless and self-defeating but also incredibly, incredibly ungrateful.

It wasn't just datamined, aside from parts being 'leaked' by Xelnath before he got himself sacked, it was also discussed in Q&As with other developers and I'm pretty sure there was a tweet by GC relating to it too.

A: The Black Temple thing in Patch 5.1 is a Warlock specific class quest and it is building up to something. It was datamined as a scenario, but it is not a scenario. It is just a small one off class quest for Warlocks. When it makes sense for the lore and assets we are trying to introduce, it is cool to have these little one off quests like we added for the Monk as they level up with skill challenges. It is just something nice we thought we would do for the Warlock class. It is not a big deal.

Now, while I don't agree with the threats of legal action: I can totally understand why the OP is upset at this particular issue - because it is something that was clearly pulled at the last minute. For it to go from "It will be in this patch" to "It might be in next" is pretty disapointing. And I don't even want green fire.

Locks are probaly in a better place then ever, i wanted green fire too but what gives.

Also, we aint entitled to shit, and we signed for it.

And yet Blizz is still working on a class exclusive quest for you guys to get Green Fire. Yeah it's been delayed but it's still going to come out. Suck it up.

    Chill out.

and BTW, warlock's are in a very good position in both pve and pvp.
