Bothish. I was able to have a small conversation around 1 year in, although it was mostly military terminology. At the end, I was able to hold some pretty good conversations with Koreans I knew.

Wass, how/why do the higher players get such high APM at the VERY beginning of a game? I think I average around 30 until my first gateway goes down, and I don't think I'm leaving anything idle or screwing anything up, but my APM is so low.

I had to go to language school for the military.

For now I mainly want to be able to understand it hehe, then speaking it can come later but right now I'd have no use for speaking it. But plenty for understanding!

Been thinking about learning Japanese since I started watching anime. However after listening to kpop, I think Korean sounds nicer.
I'm just plain bad at languages though

Korean is easier to learn than Japanese from what I understand. The alphabet for Korean is ridiculously easy to learn. Honestly Asme just sit down for an hour with the Korean letters and you'll have learned most of them, except maybe the complex vowels but the rest is easy.

The complex vowels aren't too hard if you understand the basic ones. You just end up combining the sounds for the most part.

We actually had native Koreans as instructors xD

We had around a week or two to learn the alphabet and some vocabulary and then it was trial by fire.

Why bother?

Mainly to warm their hands up in the first few games, and not getting their hands cooled off in the later games There's always some excuse for APM spam, because in the end, it's APM SPAM!
