Carolers are people that go in moderately-large sized groups from house to house singing carols (Christmas songs) such as "Silent Night" or "Frosty the Snowman" and other songs, they don't introduce themselves, and it's really awkward, because you're not sure if you should be smiling for the 5 minutes that they're sitting there singing, or if you should thank them, it's just weird in my opinion.
