my friend is trying to upgrade his video card, he's lagging in planetside 2
we're techies, he's got a great setup, but his video card is kinda old school and it's time to upgrade.
we came across those two cards, diff warranties is the only major thing we highlighted worth the price difference

maybe diff technology in cards? Would he at all notice a difference?

Same card, cheaper one is used... personally, I wouldn't trust it.

So it's just basically the exact same card, except the one that isn't refurbished is just a newer-model and looks different.
    ..right?

Pretty much. I'd go for the new one, the free game isn't worth it anyways lol.

New one also has a 3 year warranty, refurbished only has 1.

From what I can tell, they are essentially the same card as mentioned above. What I cant figure out is why one(non refurbished) has 2 DVI, an HDMI, and a display port while the other(refurbished) has 1 mini HDMI and 2 DVI ports. At that point its a preference and money thing. Some people dont trust refurbished and some people do..

New one is also only $25 more after the rebate, so...

Dont get an old 570. Take a look at the 7870/660, it is cheaper and both perform better. The 7870 pulls slightly ahead i think.
