Yeah, D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) is Pen and Paper. There's three "editions" you usually play. AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons) is the hardest - Insanely complicated - but it's also where some of the coolest universes is. Planescape and the original Fallout PnP, along with early Forgotten Realms are all made for AD&D.
Then there's 3.5, which is basicly called "Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition". It's the one people usually play, it's a lot easier than AD&N while still being challenging. This is what I usually play.
Then there's pathfinder, the easiest of them all. It's very popular and the newest one of them. It's a perfect starting DnD, since it's basicly 3.5 made a bit easier. I approve very highly of Pathfinder, and I am even DM'ing a Pathfinder campaign atm.
