The only thing it's good for is more estus. If you don't need that it'll only let people with 10 times as good gear and spells and whatnot else you don't have yet invade you so they can feel like a pro for beating someone in an unbalanced fight.

My roomie plays it as his main deck, he even have something simular RL. Believe me, it's horribly powerful. Infinite turns in turn 5.

The people are +10 -/+10-15% within your level so it's not that. They could've moved gear from their other characters though.

Being Human allows you to summon phantoms to help you out clear an area and kill the area boss, also increases your resistances.

Magic the Gathering was on sale, I'm not sure anymore.

Though, if you want it, I can highly recommend 2013. I think it's the best of them. It's also closer to standard atm (In magic there's a lot of editions, but you can only play Standard (Which is what 90% of magic players play) with the three newest editions, which is some of them used in 2013.
