    You do not, however, get more explosions.

    People think we get more explosions?

    You definitely can get more explosions over the course of a fight. If you refresh it early every application (Which realistically won't happen, but still to prove the point) at about 1.5 seconds remaining on the DoT, you will still get your explosion early, and not lose any damage. The other option being that you let the dot run off and refresh immediately (Which again won't happen, but for the argument). Using a 120 second fight for example;

    Early Refresh -
    Explosions at 10.5, 21, 31.5, 42, 52.5, 63, 73.5, 84, 94.5, 105, 115.5

    Refresh as it ends -
    Explosions at 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120

    In just that example you get an extra explosion every 2 minutes. Now yes, that assumes completely optimal play, and isn't likely to happen often if at all, but the longer the fight goes,the more chance you have to sneak in an extra explosion or two.

    You forgot one important part of the DoT mechanics. Re-casting it at 1.5s left will set the new duration to full length + 1.5s.
    So you would(at 0% haste) actually get explosions at 10.5, 22.5, 34.5, 46.5, 58.5, 70.5, 82.5, 94.5, 108.5 and 118.5 seconds.

    In other words, you get the exact same number of explosions, they just happen 1.5s earlier. You cannot increase the number of explosions, since the explosion is only triggered after the penultimate tick.
