Weird tooltip size

After the patch i got this weird tooltip size for the small, low hp mobs that run around in packs. I thought it was from an addon but i removed all my nameplate addons and it was still the same thing.

Has anyone else encountered this before?

This is how it works since 5.1 and I hate it. It's really hard to click on those plates to target things. Anyone know if there is a way to disable this?

Pretty sure it's been this way since Mists launch, or even Mists pre-patch

It was introduced in 5.1. I dont know why, and i dont know how this could ever be concidered a clever idea. Just like the new item tooltips. 5.1 Basically was one big patch of errors that shouldnt even have been launched in the first place.

The smaller nameplates was introduced in MoP, and they just mean that its a mob with lower hp than a normal mob. I like the idea tbh. I havent used any nameplate addons since cata so i dont know if its possible to change them.

If you use a custom nameplate addon you can make them all the same size.

Are there any custom nameplate addons that are just the base UI ones without this size change? I've yet to find a custom one that I like.
