Starcraft Literature - Would you recommend it?

Thinking about stuff to put on my Christmas and was wondering what people thought of the Starcraft Novelizations that came out. I think the first couple were just digital copys but Startcraft and Half-Life were easily a couple of my favorite games as a kid and I never knew much about the lore. Recently looked into it a bit and it sounds really awesome. Wondering if anyone would recommend the books over whatever I could find online for free seeing as the books are pretty cheap anyway. Thanks!
