    Group punishment

I was just raiding LFR and a couple of ppl started asking mages to do table after each trash pack (we had 3 mages). Mages did dot reply and did no table, then one of the ppl in raid got angry cause mage did not do table and we ended up with 4 ppl not dps:ing "until a mage did table" and we did finish the raid but it was reeeeaaaaalllyyy slow cause we lacked 4 dps.

So.. Even as I sympathise for the ppl refusing to dps as I know it only take some seconds and no mats for a mage to make a table nowadays I really wonder if it was right of them to stall everyone of us in the raid that just wanted it done and over.

If it was up to me I would both ban the mages and the ppl refusing to dps as they were all stalling the rest of the people.

I always try to understand people so I looked into both the mages and the stalling dps:ers and I kinda both thought theire behaivour was mature yet making an interesting point and this made me very interested in what other ppl think. Is it good or bad to affect an entire raid just to make a point. Kinda annoyed me but even if I really want to kick the slacker in the butt, a s
mall (very small) part of me understand them slightly about being annoyed about the mages refusing to teamplay.

Edit: BTW, sorry if this was confusing to read. My english is bad and I'm really tired. Hope you get a hold on it

    That's something new...

I get a little irritated when I politely ask for a mage table and the mages refuse to provide one too, but, I always carry tons of water in my bags for situations where I can't get mage food and even in LFR people oftentimes put down food tables as it stands right now.

I'm surprised you didn't just vote kick the people who refused to dps, or at least have someone suggest it. It's no different than them being afk, really. I think most people's response to a "sit in" like that would be to vote kick the offenders.

I agree I think those refusing to dps because the mages wouldn't put a table down was ridiculous, I can see the frustration though, Not just with mages refusing to put tables down, but generally Combat Ressers too, as a Druid I make it known when I have used my CR , who I used it on, and respond that its on CD when being asked to rez someone.

So many times people that can CR just don't respond, nor use their ability. I feel it's pretty un team playerish of them and rude.

All in all I keep food and water on me at all times incase of such situations, and feel that even though I sympathise with the DPS, they also aren't team players (what happened to being prepared for a raid??) So would have kindly asked them to start doing their part, or kick them (and I kick very rarely I like to try and talk to people first)

While the mages should have dropped a table, it is not required of them to do so. It is required of those healers/dps/tanks to participate in the encounters. If they refuse to do their jobs, they should get kicked, period.

    is this kidding?

Just kick the 4 dps, then kick the mage.

If people don't want to do stuff for the group, they don't belong to the group.

Use your "kick" and "ignore" buttons more efficiently.

    Was the mage brazilian?

See, i look at this differently. The four dps were doing what everyone should have been doing, not continuing until the group was made ready. While one could argue they should have had their own supplies, you can also go the other way and ask the question of why it was so hard for the mage to click one button.

Far, far too many people will press on instead of stopping to address issues like this, and far more legitimate ones such as 'healers' who are dps etc.

well casting table as a mage is just polite, not a role in raid to provide food/water. Mages are dps as far as they do it its cool.

Tho not dpsing cus of mage not bein polite to him is just gay and should be vote kicked instantly!

Kinda childish of them not to dps, but I really hate mages that don't put a table down if someone asks.

You might want to edit your post before an angry homosexual reports you for using a term that defines a sexual orientation to express something as undesirable, even though you meant nothing by it.
Sunglasses and Advil, last night was mad real. Sun coming up, 5 a.m., I wonder if they got cabs still?

I'm glad it's not up to you, then. Mages are not required to provide a table for the group, although it is polite to do so. Refusing to DPS as a response only results in inconveniencing the rest of the raid, including yourself, and in the end they didn't even receive what they wanted. Regardless, neither is worth banning. The ability to vote kick people is there for a reason, and I suggest you use it next time.

I disagree, unless you can point out another class that can conjure free food and water with absolutely 0 cost for themselves.

    Mage should provide the food.

It is no different from the buff/soul stone/health stone.

Just votekcik the mages. It IS their role to provide the table, it's in their spellbook for a reason : USE IT. Just as dumb than a tank who would not taunt "tanking is enough, taunting is not something I want to do". Or healer not rezing "healing is enough I don't have to rez dead people".

Every single classe has to buff/symbiosis/make food/make health stone/drop banner/drop totem as much as they can, that's how a raid work and people who don't want to take their part should be kicked asap.

So it's cool with you if the mages just spam conjure food the whole raid?

It isn't their role to make up for others failing to prepare. The four refusing to dps were the ones holding up the raid.

Not wanting to spend gold on something that can be acquired for free is "failing to prepare?" lol
