Just gonna throw something in here that I didn't see mentioned... If you go with a decent Z77 board and an I3, you could later on step up to an I5 and get a decent cooler then and OC to your hearts content.

That's what I'd consider at least... before going with a cheap AMD route.

Maybe look at the AMD APUs. I'm pretty sure some of the faster ones can run wow on medium settings pretty nice at least.

I think some of us were just following his lead with his sample build. It is true that he could just go with an AMD A10-5800k build and 1866 or 2133 memory with no discrete GPU. Done right, your still looking at around $400 unless you can find some serious bargain deals.

Switched out the PSU and Mobo to accomodate the 7850 without going over the budget.

About to order this, however I would hugely prefer a 4 core processor over that 2 core, is there any way to swap out some things to get a 4 core? The graphics card is kind of overkill, even a amd 5xxx would be fine.

If that's the case then switch the CPU to an i5-3570K and you're set, but don't forget your OS which may throw the i5 out the window. Everything else there is pretty much bottom line budget build. I can't really see anything you could cut back on that would give you much savings.

It's ou of stock now but I'm sure you can find something similar. It runs wow 60-70 fps wide open. Bog down around 40 fps in big pvp like IoC. I don't raid.

If you live by a Microcenter, you'll easily save a ton on your CPU. I got my i5 2500k for $160 where Amazon/Newegg is asking $220.

They also even knock off another $40 off the motherboard if you buy a 3rd gen i5 or i7 CPU (which is $50-$70 cheaper than Newegg/Amazon) which totals almost $100 saved since they will most likely price match Newegg's prices (they did for my GPU) as long as there aren't mail-in rebates attached to them.

But the catch is you have to live somewhat close to one. I drove 30 minutes and built a $750 rig from all the parts from there. I just reused my PSU, case, HD and inherited a 110gb SSD from a good friend.

People are talking alot about GPU's when you should be concentrating on CPU+Memory instead. Buy any GPU 260 nvidia or above after you get a decent cpu+memory. And youll be able to run wow 1920x1080 at high settings and have atleast 45-60 fps. MY 2ndary computer is an AMD Phenom II x4 black edition, 8Gb ram 1066mhz, and a nvidia 460. I can run all on ultra in 25 man without lag.
