Random Friend Request Facebook

Does anyone ever get any random Facebook friend requests? I get some random ones from time to time. I never seen the people in my life and they randomly add me for no reason?

Some people just love to see huge friend counts.

Also, spam accounts *do* exist. You can always up your security/privacy settings, you know.

happens every so often. either its a real person wanting a high friend account, or its a half naked chick with links to her porn site. Either case, i don't add them.

Occasionally though they turn out to be people I met in WoW whereupon it becomes "how the hell did you find my facebook!?"

Isn't there some addon or whatever that auto-requests friends of your friends that does this? Either way, when I used to get them I'd decline, find out who was on my list that was on their list and remove them too, cuz whatever, fuck facebook.

i used to upon which i would be confused for a second as to why they are sending me friend requests when i dont even know them and would then ignore the request. but that was before i stopped using facebook.

Rarely, for me. I have a fairly small FB friends list and we're all generally not the type of people to actively pursue a gigantic friends list, so I seem to avoid that sort of culture altogether. If I do get a random friend request, it's almost always someone with an attractive woman as the display picture, with nearly 0 friends and has obviously only just been created for spamming.

That said, I did have a weird one a while ago. I got a friend request from someone who shared the exact same name as me, first name and last name (couldn't check middle name). He had sent a message which basically said 'hey, I'm adding all the (our name)'s, I thought it'd be fun to all be connected!'.

No. No it wouldn't. o_o Blocked!

Sometimes, but rarely. Usually I check their mutual friends to see if I do know them from somewhere, and just forgot. If that's blank, I ignore.

Collections agencies, et al. use social media to find people as well. Just because you don't know who they are, doesn't mean it's a random person. Be wary.

Never, i have set friends requests off on facebook. The only thing i use FB for is that i am in certain groups, get invites to partys from friends, and enter competitions.
