I'm not convinced that ruining the global economy is going to help stave off some massive catastrophe down the road.

I'm more worried about real environmental threats than of CO2. Things that we can actually predict will have a certain adverse effect.

A volcano produces more bad stuff than humans do for a whole year in a matter of days when there's an eruption.. I'd believe it's more nature changing the climate due to volcanic activity. Just watch yellowstone when that has an eruption, then we can talk about climate changes..

His logic was never strong to begin with, he was basically saying "A super euroption will happen sooner or later so why wait".
That is the reasoning of someone not very concered with anything but how to afford his Chicken McNuggets the next day.
