Quick question about Engineering...

What benefits does engineering have towards pve and pvp?
I'm thinking on leveling it but I don't want to waste much of my time and have to get a new profession later on, after hitting 600 on it

As an Engineer/miner of over 8 years, I've had an endless blast turning people into chickens and Mind-controlling people with legendary weapons and fully tricked-out PVP armor. Nothing is more satisfying when MCing the flag-carrier's personal healer, and a 1 vs 2 becomes a 2 vs 1. ^_^

That's the trouble with WoW... Some people forget there's supposed to be more to an MMORPG than just min/maxing statistics. >_<

How does the cog-wheel thing work?

You can make items (Ghost Iron Dragonling and 476 epic helm) that have 3 and 2 cogwheel slots respectively. A cogwheel works like a gem, but gives 600 in a secondary stat of your choice.

you get epic helmets with cogwheels.
aka you get to pick your stats as in 600haste and crit or if you prefer mastery ect you can take that instead.

also you get to craft the goblin glider. nice for those moments your going to take fall dmg.
there also great for hunters seeing the can disengadge with the parachutes.

then theres the nitro bootst. the can fail in a raid + shoot you upwards forcing you to parachute to savety, but most times the give a great speed boost that has saved my guildies some times.

the gloves are our stat perk. a good chunk of main stats

as for crafting i have to disappoint you.... we can make scopes but there over crafted.
then theres the mounts. well 70K for a mount means it rarely sells. all thanks to the damm mystery orbs that cost 20K a pop

atm theres also no bombs that really give a boost in pvp. seeing our land shard takes a casting time+ not do insane dmg or CC the target.
still it's 1000x more fun then lets say leatherworking.... the get a wrist enchant and if reverd with x faction can make some sub LFR raid epic items.
