looking for some good alligator recipes.

anyone here know how to cook alligator meat? i understand it's supposed to be cooked a certain way. how would i cook it? do i pan fry it? do i boil it? do i grill it? i found some alligator meat on sale and want to try it but i dont know to cook it. (sorry if this is the wrong forum section not sure if it went in off-topic or fitness since i do see food topics here occasionally.) what is alligator taste comparable to?

It depends on what part of the alligator you are cooking. Anything but the tail you probably want to stew as it is going to be tough. I've not had tail meat before, but apparently it is almost veal-like.

I've had the tail deep fried with a dipping sauce, or on a po boy, and those both seemed like they worked out pretty well. Not the most flavorful meat (at least the couple times I had it), but pretty tasty.

pretty sure the meat they are selling isn't the tail part.

Fried Alligator with a Garlic Aioli Dipping Sauce, Mediterranean Alligator with a Tomato and Caper Sauce both are awesome. I think you have to try these.
