Tbh I really don't care much about the story as long as the fighting scenes are cool and well done, don't go the transformers route with all that nonsensical stuff in between, give us what we came for, giant robots fighting monsters! :P

so it has the whole psychic link thing that evangelion has.. except a slight twist and its with a dual pilot. lol totally different.

i think the point was this movie is about Giant Robots and Monsters.. something Evangelion itself got inspired from these other guys just like Pacific Rim.

So fed up with 100% FX movies with no plot, poor acting, a kickass babe. Not that I enjoyed any transformers or Marvel crap anyway.

I don't understand why everything has to have a plot. Why not watch big ass robots duke is out because big ass robots are badass.

I mean UFC comes to mind 0 plot, but people watch it anyway.

I don't understand why everything has to have a plot.

They can't argue with the awesomeness of robots vs monsters so they need something ELSE to drag the film down with, like "OMG that movie sucked cos they should of built spaceships with the tech and left they're planetz OMG!!!SDSX -000000 / 10"

It doesn't need to have a deep plot, but at least the action needs to make sense. Each action scene must have a purpose, other than just to show some loud explosions on the screen. The motivation of the characters to perform those actions should be understandable and the audience should be able to identify with them.

Anyway, the trailer looks awesome.

I have quite high expectations on this one although it really looks like a better transformers movie mixed with NGE elements. I like Charlie Hunnam in Sons of Anarchy so I am looking forward to his performance. Shame that we don't have any real IMAX theatres in Germany.

And Guillermo del Toro is not Michael Bay, so there will hopefully be no unnecessary "funny" scenes which cover half of the movie...
