The last game you beat and what you thought of it.

There is a thread in the Cinema/TV/Music board that asks what the last movie you saw was, and what you would rate it out of 10. I thought it would be a neat idea to make a thread with the same idea, only focused on the video game that you last played!

What was the last game that you beat, and what did you think of it? What would you rate it on a scale of 1-10? What did you like about it? What did you not like about it?

Alternatively, maybe you played a game and quit before finishing. Why did you stop playing? Will you go back to playing it eventually?

I'll go ahead and start. I just finished playing through Infamous for the PS3, and I really enjoyed it! The gameplay was very fun, and though it got repetitive with the side missions sometimes, I found the main storyline really fun, and I was honestly surprised by the ending. I am excited to start playing Infamous 2, because I've heard from friends and reviewers that it's improved on a lot of the flaws that the first game had and that it is a lot more polished. Sounds good to me! As for Infamous, I'd probably rate it a solid 9/10. It was really great!

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I liked it, having never played the previous games. Enjoyed the story, characters and overall feel. The bosses were just horribly implemented and felt out of place.

...I also wanted to yell out "Snake? Snake! SNNNNAAAAKKKEEE!" whenever I died.

The actual last game I 100% completed was Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. Fantastic game and lovely little thing at the end if you complete it 100%.

I'd rate it 10/10 considering there are few games that keep me going for that long to get 100%

Blasted through Mega Man 2 last weekend. That game is timeless, which is why I play it so often. Absolutely love it.

Finished XCOM: Enemy Unknown with around 28 hours of played (I didn't rush things).
It was pretty good, though the missions started to get a little repetitive towards the end. What I liked were the base building and capturing the aliens alive for interrogation, upgrading your squad members stuff, but with that in mind it was sad too see the best guy in your team to die (R.I.P. ;__; ).
And the ending was... ending was. :/
I'll give it a solid 8/10, it's one of those games you must buy if you like strategy games.

    Assassin's Creed III

It was about equal with Revelations, and not as good as II or Brotherhood. The Desmond ending sucked. Haythem was interesting, and the new naval battles were pretty fun. Trying to figure out the Frontier map was annoying. I'd probably give it a 7/10.

pokemon black 2. i had already finished the gen 5 pokedex in black and white so i was able to just relax and enjoy it instead of "MURST CATCHEMS ALLS BRAH"

in my opinion one of the best pokemon games yet and the only thing keeping it from being my favorite is no pokemon following you like in hgss it may seem small but to me that was an awesome feature but my guess is that its going to become something special they do for remakes so when the ruby and saphire remakes come out hopefully they will have it.

who knows maybe the ruby saphire remakes will become my favorite.

but for right now my favorite pokemon games go soul silver, black and white 2, black and white, ruby and saphire, firered and leafgreen, diamond and pearl

working on the adventure time game so far and it might just be my game of the year @_@ SHMOWZOW

    Red Faction Armageddon.

I barely completed it because it became so grueling linear and samey.

    AC3.

Really overrated. The combat was taken from ACR with almost no changes, the game looks very nice but is extremely buggy and the Optional Objectives on missions is what kills it.

You have to get the optional ones to get 100% completion (it should only give bonus money or gear skins, but Ubi is retarded). In order to get 100% you have to play in a linear story and do nothing cool besides what the objective tells you to do, it was really lame.

Oh and the story was really good 3/4 of the way through and then it felt like they just rushed to finish it, which they probably did.

I'll do the last two I played:

    Donkey Kong Country Returns
    8/10

I'm glad I finally got around to playing this game. Great level design. Fair amount of difficulty, especially during the later stages and while trying to 100% the game (which I still haven't done). It looks and sounds good, though not as good as the SNES games. Controlled well enough. The waggle was unnecessary, but it didn't take anything away from the game.
It's now my favourite 2D platformer on the Wii (I've played all the big ones), and maybe even my favourite Donkey Kong game. I hope Retro makes another at some point.

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
    6.5/10

Another solid game if you're a fan of the series or genre. The 3D visuals took some getting used to, but they do look pretty good. The story moved kind of slowly, and the big twist was predictable, but the ending surprised me and sets up the sequel nicely. Music and puzzles were great as always.

Playing through Viewtiful Joe 2 now. Will do another post when I finish that.

That would be FF13-2. I thought it was an improvement over FF13 for sure, in every way. If it had been a standalone game, I would actually have been decently happy how it played. Monster collecting was fun, and so was jumping around different time periods.

On the downside, it's a Final Fantasy which, like 13, did not feel like a Final Fantasy. There were just wrong moments, like when metal music played (got nothing against metal, but it hardly belongs in FF, and the scenes/battles it was used just didn't feel appropriate). Or moments that could've been done so epic-ally, but were just OK, like when Serah was looking for Noel after certain important events led to him being "lost" for abit.

I liked Caius though. Better villain than anyone in FF12 or 13.

Dragonborn if it counts, was very, very fun, but felt a little short, and didn't have a lot of really new stuff.

If dlc don't count, it was Halo 4, and I liked it, but I am pretty apprehensive about the way the story is going.

Finished Darksiders yesterday, was pretty good.
Ending blatantly screamed sequel, as there obviously is one.

Last single player game I played through was Portal 2, and boy was it good. Really surprised me with how much it made me laugh and enjoy it. Felt pretty rewarding too finishing it without looking up anything on the internet.

I finally beat the last ship in faster than light...i had to do it on easy though, but i'm back to trying on normal. I had 32 tries and didn't even make it to the boss ship on normal before i switched to easy. It's easily one of the greatest games i have played. It takes me back to the time i first played castle of the winds. It took me a ton of tries to get far in that game. I just need to start judging if its worth continuing to fight or just jumping away. I loved the management aspect and randomness of the events each game was different. Every time i crashed and burned i wanted to start a new one to see if i could get farther. I will beat it on normal, one day, one day. I have an extremely long laundry list of games i bought during steams summer sale that i want to play through.

The last game I completed was The Walking Dead, probably about 10 days ago now, I'd give it a 9.5/10. Suprised me with how much it made me care about the characters, to the point of having me in tears as I finished it.

    Warhammer 40k: Space Marine.

Mindless fun game about the glorious slaughtering of the emperor's enemies.
The story was ok, and the gameplay was fun. Normally not my type of game, but had a fun time with this one.
