    noob pve-mage needing advice!

    Sup mmo-champs!

I'm gonna get right down to it.
I have allways been a pvp-er. But having myself some raiding aswell now and then.

Since, imo, they ruin pvp more and more with constant changes buffs/nerfs i grow tierd of it and want to step into pve.
I started to pve as fire, learned it and did "ok" with it.

But since they nerfed fire I did crap dps with it.
I'm asking if any of u nice ppl could help me to pick a new spec.
I've tried both frost and arcane, think I did some what more dmg as arcane but at a cost of not being mobile enough for some fights.

Pretty plz take a look at my gear (I know it's not good but I havent pve'd that long) and say what u think I should do.
    Here is my armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...ocker/advanced

English isn't my first language soo be gentle

Arcane is very punishing, fire is still viable, frost is competitive. Pick whatever you want unless you really wanna aim for world ranks.

how will leveling all classes to 90 help him choose 1 of 3 specs for his mage?

go with rune of power instead of invocation, use mr robot to reforge and regem askmrrobot.com/wow/gear/eu/kor'gall/clockblocker - ik on optimize

Arcane is more powerful of the specs but all 3 are arguably viable.

When you say arcane is not mobile, either is any of the other specs, as a mage on any spec you want to keep movement to an absolute minimum.
Use rune of power, keep 6 stacks of Arcane charge as much as possible and use scorch as filler between missle procs and Arcane blast when above 90% mana or in emergency to keep full 6 stacks - this is a very general overview, for more insight read the arcane guides, plenty about.

ty for the awnsers guys, but rly, with my gear there isnt like a rule "go arcane when your gear is better etc etc?" seen some of that in other threads.

Na isn't much a rule for your gear to go a certain spec, I heard someone say that about arcane before. Wouldn't have enough mastery on there gear to make it viable, but if that's the case, you can just go the haste build with arcane, its just as good as a full mastery build. All three specs are very close this expatiation, so its what ever you find the easiest to play well.

Pve has been somewhat simplified the last few xpacks. Give Arcane a go as it is in my opinion the easiest spec to get a decent to good dps with minimal know how and experience, once you get used to rotation everything will become easier.

For Arcane you should aim for either full haste or mastery according to your likes and current gear. (Haste increases mana regen thus making it very viable) - mastery increases dmg according to your current mana storage (closer to 100% = more dmg).

And no Real rule, second i dinged i went arcane and were able to pull 50-70k in heroics.

Hope this helps and sorry for whatever typos (writing on ipad and english is a foreign language :-)

At one point there was talk that only a mastery arcane was viable but this quickly changed and its agreed now that both haste and mastery builds are viable (viable being the key word for more info consult the arcane guide since I'm only a frost mage :P). Frost will do much better with a lot of crit compared to arcane so it depends on your gear at the time.

I personally use frost and arcane. Depending on what the boss fight is in the raid, I can switch as the group needs. I use frost when questing and soloing. Honestly, whatever playstyle works best for you use it. And yes RoP for arcane wins. You can use either IW or Invo for frost, whichever is easier for you to manage.

I'd stick to fire just cause its more fun, no matter the low dps. But that's just me
