    Best monitor for the price?

Hey all. Im in the market for the holidays right now for an LED monitor, preferably ~24", for around 250-325. I was wondering what exactly I should be looking for as far as backlighting, contrast ratio, and Hz. Also, will HDMI give me a far better video quality as is with TVs. Dumb question I know but Im second guessing myself. Thanks a ton in advance for any replies !

Any specific reason for it being explicitly Samsung? Dell Ultrasharps are the better monitors at the moment.
    Like the U2312HM, U2412M. etc.

Very true...I just have always prefered Samsung for their style and quality. I suppose I wasnt thinking of the other brands, not sure why. Ill check those out !

These monitors from Korea are probably THE best bang for the buck at the 300-400 dollar range for a 27"+. Obviously before you buy just make sure the seller has a good return policy and they have a clean history. There are two guys in my office (they're out this week) who've bought these and they are f'ing amazing!!

Pretty sure dvi and hdmi are the same. hdmi just carries audio.
