PC game of the Year = the game with the most copies left in stock
GW wasn't that bad, but definitely not GOTY
GW2 was underwhelming. The Walking Dead is my GOTY.
Massively just awarded it MMO of the year.

Doesn't make sense to have Rift as "most improved MMO" when the relative quality is the same as day 1 launch. Nor does Planetside 2 make sense as "non-traditional MMO" when the franchise pre-dates many modern era MMOs.
Gaming press is only rivaled by gamers for stupidity.
All the same, just another notch in Guild Wars 2's accolades. Still a great game.
While the game isn't as much of a time consuming vampire as WoW, it's kinda pleasant that I after so many years of playing WoW can start to play other games along a MMO. I haven't played it as much Guild Wars 2 as I would have liked, but I hope my upcoming Christmas Vacation from school will give me time to do that.
If there was one thing I'd like, it would be if down-scaling was a little more brutal. I like walking around in the world in level 80, playing the game as I did when I leveled up, but down-scaling isn't "down" enough. But they said they were going to make some changes to down-scaling after their November Event, so I hope time will fix.
Game Informer declared it the Best MMO of the year
“Best MMO”
“Many players’ hopes for the next generation of MMOs were riding on Guild Wars 2’s August launch, and ArenaNet’s fantastic MMORPG delivers on almost all fronts. Dynamic events are an immeasureable improvement on genre-standard static quests, the action-oriented combat allows far more skill and strategy to every battle, and player-driven endgame many have dreamed of since Dark Age of Camelot. The small matter of not charging a subscription fee doesn’t hurt Guild Wars 2’s legacy one bit, either.” – Game Informer Web Edition.

It simply shows how low MMO's have fallen.
Loading screens and not even a mount system
No Raid system, no rated Bg's, no open world PvP for a so called open PvP game.
No seamless open worlds.
Subpar engine.
Floating avatars above a bland landscape
No wonder it is not even up to half of WoW playing numbers in the west ... while complete free to play and 8 years younger.
TLDR: the Industry is desperate.
GW2 is another nail in the MMORPG coffin.
If Titan will not deliver I forsee this part of the video game industry be trampled by the other genres in NO time.
That's how good it is.
BenBos with his litany about stuff ppl don't care about is at it again I honestly wish ANET started to sell their engine ... there are MMOs that would benefit from it greatly.
My part in this story has been decided. And I will play it well.
