Building New Computer - $800 Budget (Possibly a little more)

    Hello Forum Friends,
I have finally decided to take the plunge and upgrade my computer. I currently have an E8400 with 4GB ram, Nvidia 550 TI, and the Black Widow 850 PSU.

I will be keeping the GPU, and PSU for now as they are fairly new, and I don't feel like they need a huge upgrade.

These are the parts I am looking to upgrade.

    CPU - $230 -microcenter.com/product/388575/Core_i7_3770K_35GHz_LGA_1155_Processor
    MB - $190 - microcenter.com/product/386887/P8Z77-V_PRO_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Intel_Motherboard
    HDD - $85 - newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185
    SDD - $105 - microcenter.com/product/385188/m4_CT128M4SSD1_128GB_SATA_60Gb-s_25_Internal_Solid_State_Drive_%28SSD%29
    Case - $60 - newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=HAF%20912
    Heatsink - $30 - newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&Tpk=cooler%20master%20evo%20212
    DVD - $20 - newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

Now comes the hard part. I'm stuck on which RAM to purchase. I've set anywhere from $65-$90 for the ram. I am looking for 16GB. I would prefer 2x8 instead of 4x4 for the sticks as I could be upgrading in the future. This computer is for games, streaming, and I do a bunch of programming that will use the horsepower. The CPU MUST be purchased at Microcenter as they have the cheapest deal anywhere, and for the price, I don't think it can be beat.

    Thank you!

Solid build, may I suggest spending slightly more for the case and get some a little better (USB 3.0 etc.)?

    Corsair Carbide Series 300R
    NZXT Source 210 Elite (Black)
NZXT Source 210 Elite (white) only $38 on sale if you like white

Change the CPU heat sink to this (cheaper, similar performance and slightly quieter):

    XIGMATEK Gaia

As for RAM either of these:

    Mushkin Enhanced Blackline
    G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series

    Notarget,
Thank you for the quick reply. Would it be feasible to downgrade the Motherboard a bit and put some more money into a few other upgrades (GPU for one) or is this Motherboard one of the best bang for the buck boards out there?

    Thanks!

I was looking at the Extreme4 or Extreme 6. I figured at $190 it was a good price. A buddy had suggested the Extreme4 as he uses it himself. Is the price difference($135 for E4, $160 for E6). I'm more then willing to +/- any board (This was the 2nd hardest thing to figure out other then RAM)

    Thanks again!

The Asrock Extreme4 is perfectly fine and a good choice.
