What nonsense. Not that I give a crap about Kesha, but seriously, music is music. It has nothing to do with anything else.
Discovery also cancelled one of their reality shows called "American Guns." The show followed a family-owned gun-smithing/gun-shop where they worked on custom orders and safety was always key. Last season, the shows second, saw an almost 50% jump in viewership. But after the Sandy Hook shooting, however, the show's facebook page and Discovery's website were flooded with accusations that "shows like this" were to blame for the shooting.
It's not the whack-job the did the shooting. It's not the people that saw the warning signs and ignored them. No. It's music and TV that are causing these violent outbursts.

Feel free to visit any number of Middle-eastern or Near-East nations where "Eastern" music (AKA: American) is banned and attempts by American artists to perform are met with terroristic threats.
So, no, it isn't "only in america."
I hate this kind of shit. I remember when the Dark Knight Rises shooting happened and the movie Gangster Squad got put on hold so they could re-shoot the scene where the gangsters all walk through the movie screen, guns blazing. It was an awesome scene, and they removed it because of the actions of one person. So ridiculous.
Here are the english lyrics. The song is literally a dance hit about nuclear armageddon :P
I've never heard the song, so I don't know how much/little the lyrics apply to the situation. However, I generally approve of giving a song less air time if it has direct references to something as bad as this. Not outright banning, though. Just "Let's not play this song that much for a few weeks."
The trailer was aired before the shooting even happened, and they were completely unrelated events. I don't see any sense in removing it from the film when there isn't a particularly good reason to take offense from it. People finding it tasteless isn't a real reason to remove it. Honestly, if somebody was offended by that, I'd call them overly sensitive. I get that it's really awful to lose somebody in a tragic way like that, but fictional violence and real violence are completely different entities entirely.
The same thing goes for the song that this thread is about. It isn't related in any way to the Connecticut shooting.
I remember when Jimmy Eat World renamed Bleed American to Salt Sweat Sugar because they were afraid people would interpret it as "Bleed, American" after 9/11
kinda lame
well i guess it's a good thing you probably weren't even gonna watch it in the first placeYou might find it awesome, but others might find it tasteless.
based on my last 45 minutes in the car, its definitely not banned where i live.

Ironically they banned "Chop Suey" by system of a down. The song is about religious fanatics and their "self righteous suicide" and the song was officially released the week after 9/11 but was written months before the attack ever happened.
The band as a whole is about as anti government, war, corruption and "The Man" as you can get.
