Principles and superior numbers, technology, tactics, and determination. And ideally they are principles that you've convinced the majority of those fighting the war are worthwhile, so they'll fight as hard as they can (re: determination). Principles can handicap you, sure, but they're useful for holding a society together after the war's over.

Rivellana, how about you do something about the two trolls then? First one of them brings real life groups into this trying to cash in on the "prejudice" thing currently going on. When it doesn't work he starts directly attacking and insulting other people, then the second one shows up who states how much he likes the first one's post and then goes on in two posts about how much he hates Group A while loving Group B and doesn't say a SINGLE WORD about the actual topic!

thing is if varian is willing to win a war dirty, what will he and his nation have turned into? And what worse decisions would seem justifiable then? Just how deep will the rabbit hole go before its hard to tell the difference between them and the legion's attitude?

can they really say they've survived if they're no longer holding the same values and who they were and what they stood for is dead? If they've let it die and turned into something terrible?
