What Is Your Favorite WoW Zone?

Heeeelllo, it's me again, the new guy in town who cares so much about your opinions.

And this time I have a different question to ask of you, my brothers.

What is your favorite zone or location in WoW? We all have that special place we've been or heard of that has gained a special place in our hearts. From the simple land of Westfall, to the majestic and magical locale of Quel'Thalas.

Where's your happy place?

My personal pick is the spectral-nature land of Nagrand. It's elegant and gives off a peaceful vibe, what with it's floating islands and grassy plains. It is just so tranquil

Pre-Cataclysm Darkshore.

Redridge. It's scenic. The story/questing/mob level flow from west to east just always felt right. It wasn't a crossroads, but it was an interesting detour at all levels, even for Horde characters who wanted to snipe lowbies from on top of the inn.

Southwestern Loch Modan made me wish it never ended, though. That east side of the Loch felt a bit flat in comparison, other than the Ogre mound when it was your first all elite area, if I remember right.

I've always been a sucker for Teldrassil. It just has a serene quality to it. Though I may very well be biased, as my first toon was a Night Elf and Teldrassil was my first introduction into WoW. As for where I enjoyed leveling the most...I know I may be in the minority on even liking this zone, but I thoroughly enjoyed Vashj'ir. It may be imperfect, but it was unique and expansive and beautiful. I really hope it's not the only underwater zone they ever do (though I'll freely admit the mechanics were awkward).

Howling Fjord or Grizzly Hills.

Hellfire peninsula I love the fire and destruction. The whole zone is built around war. A perfect playground for warriors.

Zangarmarsh, then Nagrand

The Jade Forest. The beautiful green landscapes, amazing forests, waterfalls, islands etc as well as the constant tall hills with nice Asian architecture buildings atop them is just all amazing. The quests are awesome too.

Netherstorm!! This zone single-handedly removed the idea that I was playing a traditional fantasy RPG.


Also the combination of bio-domes mixed with futuristic alien facilities made it even better. (Vash'jir gets second place.)

The first three human zones: Elwynn, Westfall, and Redridge. Pre-Cata OFC. best questing lines/music/feel/everything.

Grizzly Hills. Love the atmosphere and the music there.
