What's bothering me is he's using some vague notion of "ownership" as excuses. He should just say "these are lands, we want them, we have a bigger army, fuck you". Not nice but that's how it goes since early mankind and that's really the only valid argument in that kind of conflict.

That would be too illegal under international law.

That may be, but who would come in to stop him/them?

Meh, laws exist only when there's someone to enforce them. As long as they're not angering anyone too powerful...

Their own people. Ordinary non-extremist Israelis are fed up enough of the fanatics as it is, a naked/criminal land grab without a cover story to sell to the population might just be enough to galvanise them into ending the rule of the minority hard-line parties.

Oh look, and people still claim that Israel's leadership isn't formed of terrorists too. Well there, it is. This is the problem with the conflict there, on one side you have a terrorist leadership, on the other you have a terrorist organization supporting the leadership. So whatever you chose it's wrong.

It's what his people want? Many romanians want northern Bukovina back from Ukraine, would it be ok if Romania would go and start building romanian towns there and push the ukranians out by army force? It's what the romanians would want, right?

Funny enough, if the US would be smart, they'd fake trying to make Israel more civil so that Russia lets them get into Syria. By helping the Syrian people, they'd start to be liked in the eyes of the arab people. By taking Russia's point on Israel, they'd also get bonus points with Russia. They could then make the Israelis accept the 1967 borders by giving them a small part of Syria instead. And making Jerusalem a UN site would mean the UN would now need to defend it as it would be their home.

Ironically, the link you posted is said to be 'America's world news site,' which makes it exactly as believable as Russia Today.

thats my real issue with it all. Iraq was in breach of 2 UN resolutions and had no WMDs. 1.5 million dead iraqis later, a country broken up and corruption rampant. israel in breach of around 166 UN resolutions. has admitted possessing nuclear and other WMDs. regularly attacks its neighbours while playing the victim card. nothings done. in fact the west arm and support israel while abusing the UN veto card.

Why all the hate on Israel??? they are just about the ONLY nation in the middle east that isn't burning European/American flags and wanting "death to the west".

Also why in the hell would anyone except radical muslims want palestine to have an independent state???? The last thing we need is another government helping terrorists.

The United Nations should step in, with armed forces and prevent this from happening. Both sides have been committing crimes for decades now, and it has to stop. The borders that have been drawn, should be recognised by both states, and forced into peace with international military force if needed.

I'm sick of this silly conflict. Both sides should accept faults, and make serious amends towards the situation, or face being wiped off the face of this planet by international forces, who've grown tired and bored with this petty situation.

They've had long enough to resolve the issues themselves, and it isn't working. Time to get tough, and get mean.

Because "helping" Iraq made them so popular with the Arabs, right?
