    Warrior build - GS+Rifle 10/30/10/0/20

    Hi folks,

I wanted to share a warrior build that I quite enjoy these days and gives me a lot of skills to use, high dps and is based on constant weapon swapping. Good melee and Ranged dps and also gives good control on targets with GS+Rifle skills because of fast weapon swapping and skills recharge.

What I like/enjoy about this build:

12% more dps from full Adrenaline
    9% crit on full Adrenaline
High GS/spear dps and skills recharged 20% faster
High Rifle/Harpoon gun dps and skills recharge 20% faster
    Fast weapon swapping
20% faster signets (a heal available every 16 seconds, might every 20 seconds, Signet of rage up 30 secs out of 48 seconds. why not?
40 x precision for every unused signet (5 x Signets used in this build)
    Decent defense

Utility skills can be customized for personal play style and 5 points from arms can be removed and used in defence for Adrenal Health (Regenerate health based on Adrenaline level) for suvivability or in discipline for Versatile Power (gain might for 10 seconds on weapon swap).

Basically my Rotations are like use signets for might or rage rush in use dps skills of my rifle or GS depending on the situation, swap to the next weapon use all skills and swap back to the previous rinse n repeat.

Here is the link for the build

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this build.

    Thanks

Not a big fan of max signet warrior, you have almost no defensive abilities.

Yeah, I use the Sonic Boon build from GW2Guru. It's served me nicely. It's also a GS/Rifle build.

I take it this is for dungeon play?
    I'll expand on my thoughts
    1. Due to having a ranged and a melee weapon your constant weaponswaps aren't efficient. If you're in melee (using GS) and swap to rifle and back, you would've been better off just not swapping since inorder to make the swap "safe" you'd need to use whirlwind attack to get out and in later.
    2. Signet of range (and all signets tbh) in general are quite selfish skills. A 1/4 buff to dmg of your entire team will out perform your own 3/4 buff especially if you take skills like Time Warp into account.
    3. Spreading your dmg over 2weapons is hardly ever a good idea. Most of the times you use one weaponset to support another. You'd be better off grabbing "on crit you cause vulnerability" than "rifle/harpoon now pierce".
    4. Warriors don't need that much precision (no class does actually) you can (depending on gear) run with 50-60% base crit and rely on your fury uptime to increase it to 70-80% so the 200prec you get from running signets is overkill.

I added armor so you can see you'll hit 63% crit chance and afaik this is without the additional 200prec (9.52%crit chance) making you get about 92.76 crit chance with fury.

Extremely low survivability. It looks great for farming stuff though.

Intresting for farming I guess but I wouldnt use that for much else. I personaly use a build focused more on the tactics line normally for banner healing but I've done shout healing as well. Less raw individual damage than yours but I keep constant might constant regen ~50% furry up time and whatever banner I brought along constantly on my group as well as supplying swiftness and vigor on demand with those boons coming with condition removal (sword/warhorn instead of rifle, I swap out the great sword if I need ranged)

Overall I agree with meledelion's critique other than the signet of rage one. Ya its a tad selfish as far as buffs go but honestly warriors dont have much else to put in the eliet slot that suports the group. Jug is not that good and while a clutch rally from war banner is nice its prety easy to supply the rest of its features with better uptime due to its long CD. I normaly run rage unless I'm expecting to need that clutch rally.

Thank you for the input and it has helped me improve my build. As I mentioned utility skills/ can be changed for more survivability and group utility. I like swapping weapons quite often for various reasons like non melee friendly bosses, kiting mobs, kicking mobs away from friends, etc

I run this build in dungeons and wpvp (change some kills and traits here and there) and it works well for me.

    Updated build.

If a boss isn't melee friendly you probably want to avoid melee at all time, this is why it seems weird to me that you like to "switch weapon often". Ofcourse this reasoning counts for bosses who aren't range friendly as well.

I'd strongly sugest running the sonic boon build linked earlier since your build is pretty close to it anyway. (there are things I don't agree on with the build but I've got a couple of pages to sift through, before I'll make any remarks here or on guru )

I'll edit this post later when I've read everything

    EDIT:
Ok most of the build is very nice but there are some things I don't like. If you read the topic there's a person (nonlinear) who basically makes some very good points with which I agree.

A short list of contradictory/weird things in the sonic boon build:
    1. They value healing quite a bit while also stating it is NOT a support build and you'll be focusing on yourself and YOUR might stacks(instead of using shouts to heal).
    2. They assume/sugest that no survivability stats (toughness/vit) = dead which isn't true for 2points.
2.A. They go from the premise you're running with a "team" that has support classes in it. This will help a lot more than your own tough/vit
2.B. Those stats do close to nothing in FotM since agony ignores armor and is %of health based.
    3. They focus on dmg but disregard some important buffs (10%GS dmg isone of them)
    4. They go for the drop off point of crit for generating might. This means they're not optimising dps since you need to hit at least 50%crit chance for crit dmg (and later power) to become "worthwhile".
    5. The power they listed is rather low.
    6. They go off the premise that nobody in your group gives might, so you'll be keeping it up 100% of the time at 25stacks, in reality this isn't true (especially if you have an ele/guard/mes) in your group since they can give quite a few might stacks without much effort aswell. So you could get away with using less boon duration. Or switch the rune of fire to for instance rune of rage to make the fury you apply last longer.

Those are a couple of ideas that popped in my head quickly which didn't really get answered but are quite hard to check.

Oh, another GS/Rifle build, how absolutely terrible. When will other warrior users realize that the class is freaking amazing at getting crit chance with out being a signet build?
I run 20-0-30-0-20 and I still hit 70% crit chance 81% when fully topped off (fury is an amazing boon try using it) ,and have utility skills that actually help a group.

Notes: the 15 pnt minor trait in defense is like 300 every 3 seconds at lvl 80, not enough to really notice, if you want health gain with a dps build use omnomberry pies.
and adding just 5 points to discipline isn't really effective for that minor trait, it just means that while in combat you can build up a stack of might with a 50% up-time of 2 stacks (assuming you are on top of switching every 5 seconds) and if you are switching that often you will need the reduced cds on the the rifle, otherwise you can't spam that #3 skill everyone loves.

What build are you responding to this one old one or this one updated?

    1. Please clarify what's terrible about GS/Rifle
    2. They already do and the vast majority of seasoned warriors don't use this build anymore. People looking for improvements/advice do.
    3. So you play a hammer or mace build with high crit chance?
    4. You mean that trait he didn't take?
    5. He might take it since it's needed to get to the other 3traits...

1.GS damage is lower the axe, even after max sustained stacks of vulerability (8 stacks 6 if you spam #2) are put on by the gs. #2 offers a decent amount of burst sure, however you're rooted and without sacrificing utilities your biggest burst attack can be interupted. As for the rifle its damage is adjusted for the bleeding the skills cause, where as the damage from the bow isn't thus you get more direct damage which is more efficient for this class and pretty much any direct damage dealing warrior. +bow has AoEs without needing to be traited.
2.Maybe I could have been a nicer critic.
3.Nope axe/shield i hit 3200 attack 70% crit chance 79% crit damage 3413 armor, not just high crit chance.
4.He listed that he COULD take the traits and listed how it would give him more survivability I tried to explain how it would not really help.
    5. He never said he would add 10 points only 5, adding 5 just for the 25 point minor trait would hurt him more then help him for the explain reason that he would only have 2 stacks of might 50% of the time.

    1. I do not have the numbers but I highly doubt axe does more dmg since reddit and guru both seem to agree that GS does more dmg. Granted the root is a bit anoying but very manageable in most dungeons (since you can time exactly when you get rooted).
    3. Why go 30 in defense, it seems weird to me, can you pm me ?your build? (since this isn't the right place for it)
    4. You're still talking about the original post, he updated it later.
    5. I misunderstood you. What you say is correct.
