    HC protectors 10m

Hey, just wondering about how you guys managing stacks from add for you group in 10m ?

What rotations are you taking? seen that people does is stacking the debuff equally to all your dps groups, others just stacks higher debuff for one dps group.

Any advises/tips how you handle this?

3, 3, 3. Then 6, 6, 6. After that 8, 8, 8. Then 9, 9, 9. Burn 3rd boss while healers get stacks. You can let the last few through and get to the boss so healers can stack up for AoE healing as well.

Note that this is what we did, and isn't the only option. How you do stacks early on isn't that big of a deal as long as you are refreshing everyone's stacks and the people killing adds get a decent amount to keep up with the adds since they spawn faster as you kill each protector. Also as long as the DPS have around 8-9 stacks for the final burn without them falling off you will be fine.

we do 3,3 then 2 for the rest of the fight until group 1 and 2 has 9, 3 and 4 have 8, then healers take the rest, stopping on adds at 25-30%

You want a super easy way of doing it?

1st group that kills the adds takes 4. 2nd group takes 6, 1st group refreshes buff only so their stack is 5, 3rd group to 6, 2nd groups refreshes to 7, boss is dead.

We havnt tried this because i heard the DPS requirement was rly high, just how high is it? compared to say... garalon... if ur killin garalon at the 6min mark, is that where u wanna be to be able to kill protectors?

anyone thats killed protectors share some info pls? wot sorta raid dps are u doin?

if you kill garalon HC in 6 minutes you have enough dps to kill any encounter in T14HC.

As an MMO-Champion discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving 25s and 10s approaches 1. In other words, Shootz observed that, given enough time, in any MMO-Champion discussion—regardless of topic or scope—someone inevitably makes a comparison between 25s and 10s.

As Zora has said, if you're killing Garalon HC in around 6 mins, you will easily have sufficient DPS to do protectors HC.

Having checked last weeks farm, we killed Garalon in a fraction over 6 mins, and protectors in around 6 and a half mins (using what is in my opinion a sub-optimal stacking strat) and that was with RDPS of around 1.21 Million. To expand a little further, top individual was ~190k DPS, ranging down to 110K ish.

Note healing requirements can be fairly harsh too, the quicker you get Kaolan down the less issues you'll have with this, and high numbers on the damage side will shorten the final burn, which very quickly gets out of control once you get past 1 minute or so on the final guy (and once hero/lust has fallen away) Fortunately the second boss gives your healers a much needed breather.

(This is from a 10 man perspective)

that was just an example, we kill it in around 6mins30.

would u say its worth goin for protectors before ambershaper/imperial/grand empress?

tactics wise protectors seem pretty simple and not that different from normal (besides the add and debuff, which isnt rocket science)... or am i missing something from the videos ive watched?

i feel like we probably have the DPS to attempt it, and was thinkin about going there before the above 3, as the above 3 are pretty hard tactics wise, and we dont have loads of time to be learning that stuff right now

It certainly isn't that tough, but then again, neither is Amber Shaper. Compared to him, Protectors have an actual gear check, both for DPSers and healers, and require quite good interrupts. When buffed by water globule, Elders fire their spells like machineguns and those hurt *a lot*. It's very likely that you completely ignored that aspect of the encounter on normal, but here, it actually matters. If you have that under control, things become easier, but it's still much harsher gearcheck than Shaper.

thanks for the advice, we'll most likely go for ambershaper > imperial > grand empress > lei shi / protectors

What makes this way a lot easier than other ways?

We just have 4 groups, they go 6, 6, 6, 6 and people refresh their stacks whenever they need to. I don't get why people have these complex rotations.

yep us too. in my first guild we had this clusterfuck rotation and we wiped for a week before we killed it. new guild, progressing on protectors again, the gm says "nope we're all goin to six..." and it died in 9 pulls.

it depends a lot on who gets stacks first, as a moonkin 2nd in rotation, i do about 160k. anything lower than 110 by the last phase is slacking off

6-6-6-6 isn't possible. at the time group 3 gets their 6th stack the buff on group 1 already expired, after group 4 gets their 6th stack the buff on group 2 expired. so you're lying about 6-6-6-6. you have to do it more complex.

    g1 six
    g2 six
    g1 refresh
    g3 six
    g2 refresh
    g3 refresh
healers till the boss is dead

    it is, essentially, six-six-six

We do 3-3-3, 6-6-6, 9-9-9 on elite. Usually end the fight with the healers with at ~2 stacks, letting the last few Sha just hit Kaolan.

Never understood why people make it complicated.

So you only have three of the groups bothering with the buff? Let's assume a 10 man scenario:

    2 add killers to 6
tank and one melee to 6
    2 add killers take 1 (7)
    two ranged dps to 6
    2 add kllers take 1 (8)
tank and one melee take 1 (8)
two ranged dps take 1 (7)
the two other dps stand around with no stacks because now the healers are getting them?

    confused

We had three groups of 2 DPS do stacks. We 2 healed though, so yeah, a tank and DPS had zero stacks at the end.

    Each group does:

    3/3/3
    6 (Kaolan dies here) /6/6
    7/7/7
    8/8/8 (Regail dies here)
    9/9/9

Not sure how well you can do adds, but your three add killers should have 9 stacks, the last 3 is really up to you. If your tank is boss and knows how to do damage, then it's probably worthwhile to give them stacks too.
