Are *Charties and Non-Profit Organization* are failing to help really poor people

It is though. I don't really agree with it, but most of the world seems pretty socialist when it comes to those things.

I get taxed 50% by the government because they think I can afford to pay that much. It's quite disgusting really.

It is irrelevant if you agree with it or not, because every first world country on this planet is a quasi-socialist welfare state, and to strengthen this argument even further, we have decades of empirical economic evidence that shows when societies have a large mixed economies with robust social welfare programs there is continued and expanding prosperity.

Its not the responsibility of the citizens of a country to forcibly help the poor through taxes. Thats what charities, churches, and families are for. If charities are wasting money or not using it for what donors intended then perhaps the government should shut them down but it should absolutely NOT be something that citizens are FORCED to provide via taxes. We are already becoming overpopulated due to skirting natural selection. Eventually we will have too many people and too little food.

Food will never run out. Even now, we produce enough food to feed the entire world, not just feed it but feed it with american standard. We have made food production so efficient that small farmers are running out of business. You know the food aid we give, its for our own sake, so that food prices here do not fall below the cost of production. The reason we do not feed the world because we can 't distribute the food since energy costs money to transport those foods to where its needed.

In this day and age there are many organizations that are in it for profit. This takes away from those in need. This is why the only charity I support is a local one called "Sharing and Caring Hands". The founder is local and they are effective.

I've met the women who runs it a few times...man that is one...not nice person...but she does help a lot of people. I usual help out at their shelter 1-2 times a year.

The nfl, nba (and other sports organizations) are also non profit and exempt from paying taxes. Stern made 70 million last year as commissioner of the nba...

I've thought about this and the problem with charities is that there just aren't enough of them out there to help all the people that need it. Even the governmental programs can't help everyone that needs it so the two have to co-exist so that as many people as possible can get the help that they need.
