Mapping out the rest of MOP's Patches (Pure Speculation)

In 5.0 we defeated the Sha of Fear, and defeated the corrupted mantid Queen. In 5.1 we are currently fighting over the Divine Bell. And we know in 5.2 that we will be fighting the Thunder King and his Zandalari Allies. But what then?

    What we know:

5.0: "Mists of Pandaria". Us vs Sha, Mantid and the emergence of the Mogu/Zandalri threat.

5.1: "Landfall": Alliance and Horde show up, battle over the Divine Bell

5.2 (Raid): "Rise of the Thunder King": Us vs Thunder King and Zandalari & Sunreavers vs Kirin Tor

    5.3: ????

    5.4 (Raid): ????

    5.5: ???

5.6 (Raid): "Siege of Orgrimmar": Dethroning Garrosh

This timeline takes into account that Blizz wants to make more small patches between Raid patches. Now what I think is going to happen is that Patch 5.5 will be the Breaking Point of MOP. By the end of 5.5 both the Alliance and Horde will have had enough of Garrosh and aim to take him out.

BUT this also leaves us with two patches where who knows what could happen. What do you guys think could happen?

5.2: (Raid]: ''Rise of the Thunder King'': Us vs Thunder King and Zandalari & Sunreavers vs Kirin Thor.

    5.3: Gnomes and stuff

5.4: (Raid): ''Rise of Onyxia'', we venture into the misty dangers of Onyxias Cabin in Kun Lai Mountains.

    5.5: Dwarves and stuff

5.6: (Raid): ''Siege of Orgrimmar'': Garrosh Dies.

This is unquestionably the best theory there could possibly be. Yes?

I think the 5.3 and 5.5 patches would be similar to 5.1 with more lore for different races in the Alliance doing the same like Tyrande did and pat Varian on the back. Horde side Garrosh will do more dumb stuff and Vol'jin works on the rebellion in the shadows, with 5.5 also including a strike at Garrosh to make him head back to Orgrimmar for SoO in 5.6.

5.4 I think might be the end of the Zandalari, as they're looking for invasion points in 5.2 (says the patch notes) and I think they might be using the mogu a bit for their own gains while they're planning to betray them later and rule Pandaria for themselves. So I think we'll have a real troll raid too with 5.2 being the mogu raid.

Why do people think we will get a patch 5.4, 5.5 and 5.6? We had already speculated during Cata that we would get all those extra patches, but we didn't get it. Dragon Soul immediatly came in 4.3, so I won't be suprised if Siege of Orgrimmar will be in 5.3.

Most likely 5.4. They won't put another raid after 5.2 cause that will take ages to make. So instead they will put a patch with scenarios and dailies like 5.1.

I'm thinking that 5.3 will be a small patch like 5.1 with more dailies, scenarios and story, to tie the knots between 5.2 and 5.4.

Well that's true, but there's is a huge difference between Cata and MoP already.... It felt as if by 4.1 they'd completely given up on Cata, where as in 5.1 and the upcoming 5.2 feels as if Blizzard is actually *enjoying* their own game once more.

5.2-Seige of Stormwind-Jaina gets her ass wrapped around her face for being an annoying beyotch.

5.3-Seige of Orgrimmar-Garrosh rules triumphant burning the lesser races into their place while enjoying the fruits of being the supreme overlord of Azeroth.

5.2 - The Thunder King is Risen: we already know that.
5.3 - It's building story of Aliance and Horde, but the main point is: Why did the Mists go away? August Celestials and Y'Shaarj Lore added.
5.4 - Raid under Pandaria, where is dead body of Y'Shaarj. Something with Shaohao, last emperor of Pandaria. Also, we will see some Old God activity.
5.5 - Another Lore patch, centered around Garrosh. He will start using Mogu technology to create warriors of all sorts, also he will try to use Sha power from that Y'Shaarj raid, summon demons from nether, enslave elementals and Zandalari Loa. Aliance gets major victories in Pandaria and Old World.
5.6 - Named: "GAROSH IS ANGRY! GARROSH SMASH AND BASH!" Basicly, Garrosh has gone fully insane, not because he's corrupted, but because he started to lose war. He will kill many important persons from Horde, Aliance and some neutral factions. He will use all power he can get: Mogu and Titan technology, essence of Y'Shaarj (Sha), demons, captured beasts (Gronns, Ettins, Magnataurs, Proto-Drakes etc.), enslaved Elementals and Loa, some Old Gods servant that he captured in patch 5.4. In the end, he will consume energy from all these sources and became gigantic monster. Also, new expansion will begin here, i don't know what i want for next expansion, but i think that it will be either Legion or Old Gods, and i like them both, so i don't mind.
5.7 - Pre-event to new expansion. (Better than Theramore and that shitty TBC pre-event).

Yeah, i'm a bit optimistic on this.
Ponies are for little girls, deal with it.

I think, depending on the next expansion, we get something similar as we got with Wrath, and get a small dungeon/raid patch after SoO introducing the new lore surrounding that expansion. With these small content patched they release now and there plans for the future it makes sense, especially 'if' the next one is about the burning legion and Wration already spilling some beans about it.

I just hope we get one more raid in between Siege of Orgrimmar and Throne of Thunder. 3 raiding tiers is not enough for an expansion. 5 is too many. 4 seems to be the perfect number of tiers.

It isn't going to happen. That goes against their "faster expansions" gameplan. If they added another tier between the two, it would most definitely be a 2 year MoP.

Heh, I would have taken a few new dungeons over a new daily quest hub any day. 4.1 and 5.1 are practically the same; a little bit of lore and a little bit of meaningless content.

3 raiding tiers has been the standard since BC. ZA, Sunwell and Ruby Sanctum don't count as tiers, they were just filler material

    5.0-sha,matid,mogu
    5.1-a/h landing and divine bell
    5.2 thunder king
5.3 dailys in the old world somewhere leading to garrosh and varian among other faction leaders leaving pandaria
    5.4 SoO
    5.5 dungeon/scenario/systems patch
5.4.0 world event invasion of the legion with a dungeon and small daily quest hub leading to 6.0
6.0 a/h travel to a legion expansion and throughout the expansion they kill KilJaeden and we finally get to see an image of sargeras who orders the legion to retreat. we will see them again in either 8.0 or 9.0 with them invading azeroth with sargeras fight in the twisting nether.

What about a quick 3-6 boss raid being filler and tier 16.5?

    6.0-burning legion expansion.

5.3 trailer: A dark shadowy elven figure appears and whispers: Sunwell Plateau was merely a setback...

In the background another voice yells: You are not prepared!

    Yet another voice yells: INSECTS!

    Yup, totally happening.

Note to you speculating to the next expansion: 6.0.1 (possibly 6.0.2) would be the pre-expansion event, not 5.x:

2.0.1 introduced the changes for BC, 2.0.3 is BC proper
3.0.2 introduced the WotLK changes, 3.0.3 is WotLK proper
4.0.1 introduced the Cata changes, 4.0.3
Mists din't exactly have a "pre-event", just the level 85 version of the Theramore scenarios; 5.0.4 was Mists changes, Theramore, and Mists proper

If there is a pre-expansion event, there will be a 6.0.x patch prior to the actual 6.0.y patch to add the next expansion proper (as with BC, WotLK & Cata). If there is no pre-expansion event, and just changes to Talents, etc., then it can just as easily be done in just one patch (as with Mists).
