Would You Want Progression in Solo PvP?

There's casual and rated PvP. Both arena and RBGs, being rated, are both team-based aspects of PvP. Stuff you can't do without an organized group. However, back in Vanilla, the endgame was the Rank 1-14 system.

My question is, would you want a solo-based progression aspect added into the game for PvP, to coexist alongside the other 2? I've personally gotten 2.6k and x2 Gladiator in arena, but I do not enjoy it much at all, I think the only reason I ever got that high was to be in the 'high rated cliques'. These days I like to just que for the odd BG and some world PvP.

Do you agree that there should be some kind of progression system added for solo PvPers?

Before they announed all of the details for RBGs, I was under the impression that the RBG system would be solo queued and you would be matched with others with a similar MMR.

So yes, I would. I'd probably PvP alot more than I do currently if this type of system was ever implemented. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's vastly more interesting that "dotcleave" RBGs at higher ratings ; /

This was my original thought too about RBGs.

OT: I think if they had some sort of Weekly/daily leaderboard based on solo BG queues it would be really cool. Something along the lines of Total HKs, Objectives capped, wins, ratio etc.

    This would be pretty cool.

Yeah I've always wanted it. It's a pain in the ass to find people who are a perfect match for you on your server unless you've been playing with them since way back in the day or are already high rated.

i would come back to WoW if they implemented a system as such. Oh and they didnt break every class i love to play in pvp. But a solo ranking might get me back in the game and the PvP circuit

I think that just encourages people to enter BGs and ignore their teammates and try to play it as if it's a solo experience instead of working as a team like you're supposed to. There's already far too much of that mentality around, if anything they should be working to emphasise how important it is to work together in PVP. The better coordinated team always wins, somehow after 8 years of WoW a large proportion of the player base still can't understand that.

Blizzard could make solo PVP content but then they'd have to balance solo PVP. Which is too hard. So no.

you didn't grind rank 14 alone, beyond all the community politics surrounding the rank, it was nearly impossible to get with out significant help from friends.

this is a multiplayer game, and there is nothing more multiplayer then pvp. why the hell should there be solo progression?

You could say something similar about all PvP games though. Call of Duty is a Multiplayer PvP game but one of its largest and most popular features is its solo progression. Same can be said about League of Legends and various other PvP games. I do agree with your first comment though. The vanilla "solo progression" wasn't really solo; you needed a team to obtain max rank no doubt.

Because it's a choice and wouldn't affect you unless you have some petty reason for not wanting people to get this.

Also, multi-player has more than one meaning. Essentially, it means more than one person in a game world/zone. Battlegrounds already fulfill that. It's never necessarily meant grouping up with friendly players. Don't like this misconception at all.

Simply facing another player in PvP removes the singleplayer aspect (if there was one to begin with) completely.

possibly my reason is petty, i've put a lot of effort into cultivating my network and my synergy with the people i arena with. its a big deal and my relationship with my team mates are a large part of the reason i am successful at pvp. why should you get rewards for that not putting in that effort?

the best pve rewards go to those who are capable of working together as a team and raiding successfully, same goes for pvp.

This is how RBGs should have been from the start. Balanced teams of dps healers and tank. Blizz really botched RBGs in my opinion.
